I agree with you - guilty and insane.

This is incredible. Anyone who takes another human being's life is INSANE (with war and self defense being excluded of course). Are you actually goin to sit here and tell me the dirt bags in pine hills that shoot in cold blood arent INSANE. They are just as bad off as this crack job. The fact that we even recognize this as a defense is INSANE.

I have sat here and read all of your comments and some are interesting! I knew them, not so much Gigi but Frankie and Nico and let me just tell you all this...if you knew him at all you would know that he was definitely insane at the time...He LOVED his child more than you'll ever know obviously-he was (what we thought) a great Dad-all these people that are sitting back putting their 2 cents in have NOT A CLUE about these people and should just keep their opionions to themselves...YES what happened was HORRIFIC and I'm not putting that aside one bit, but its more shocking than anything else...You would understand that if you knew him...I will continue to pray for all of them

Believe me, we're all praying for the family that he tortured. But don't tell us to keep our 2 cents out of it, this is AN OPINION FORUM, you can't handle the differences of opinion then don't read this!
We all have the right to form an opinion, unfortunately we all do it with the only info provided to us, doesn't make it correct, but not everyone knew this guy, thank god!

Do you have any idea what happened to him? Did he have mental problems before this?

Mental illiness is REAL.... effects individually and without exclusivity....there is a larger story not told for true understanding with disbelief....I have seen the beginning, followed development, and tragically witnessed the mental disablity of someone that was a very caring and thoughtful individual....he WAS mentally destroyed by events and circumstances..did anyone see the despair and come to the rescue..no one in their right mind destroys their family....especially one that came from A FAMILY....try not to respond to just the printed matter....this is a tragedy for ALL.

The man is sick, mentally speaking. The only sicker thing is that we live in a society of misguided individuals who believes that killing the mentally ill serves justice. Especially the yahoos on this post who aren't anywhere near qualified to make a psychological evaluation or assessment in any criminal matter. There are no winners in this case, everyone loses. Let's try to understand the problem so that we can prevent it from happening in the future.
