McDowell Pediatrics

We have recently seen an issue with the billing from this office, once it started going through Mission Medical Associates. We are billed twice. When we go to the office to discuss the billing error they try to help but eventually we are told to talk with the billing service; the billing service tells us to talk to the office b/c there is an error on their side & they aren't willing to give us our due credit. We are so tired of dealing with the double billing & are considering moving pediatricians just b/c of this. It kind of sucks since we really like the new Dr there. I am wondering if anyone else seeing this as well.

Asheville is screwing everything up. My dad was going to a MD there and his supplemental insurance pays 100% of what his medicare doesn't. The MD there kept billing him. I stayed on the phone with the insurance company AND the doctor and neither one would sent repeat copies of bills (for our records)they both wanted and original bill. We got tired of the hassle and just paid the doctor.

There are a lot of billing issues due to a new system....just keep track of what you actually, have paid, dates and services provided. If you don't owe it....don't pay it or worry about it.

Mission is running just about everything in McDowell now, so if you get crappy care who are you gonna blame?

the pediatricians - Rowland and Meeks- got tired of Mission's crap and are still in mcdowell but not under mission anymore.

Can anyone tell me the name of Dr Meek's new practice? She is the best Dr around, I hate that she left McDowell peds that place has gone to hell.

some of the best doctors in mcdowell have gone with blue ridge instead of mission. Mcdowell peds is now Blue Ridge Pediatrics and located in medical court in the building with womens health group. Mcdowel medical assoc (Fowler, atkinson, etc) have also gone with blue ridge. not sure what other doctors have gone with blue ridge in the area.

Where are they now? I liked Meeks & how she doesn't order antibotics unless necessary.
I am thinking about those affiliated w/ Grace Hosp rather than Mission

Also, you can't ignore the bills if they haven't been able to work it out over several months & about to send amounts "due" to collection. It has just gotten rediculous :/

my daughter had mercer and after being in mission where she got great service went for check up and preventive treatment she didnt get any results or do anything to help my child sucky doctor changed doctors never go back

Anyone know anything about the new doc at McDowell Ped.?

I have really liked her so far & that is kind of why I am hesitant about leaving. She also doesnt seem to be one to push antibiotics.

The new doctor my children saw was Dr O'Hare, she seemed very nice and knowledgeable. I however do not like the new nurses or that everytime we have an appointment we end up waiting 35 to 45 minutes to be seen. So we will be going back to Dr. Meeks because when she was there it was great.

Where is she at now? And why did she leave?

Dr Meeks left because she wanted to be part of Blue Ridge instead of Mission. She and Dr. Roland are now at Blue Ridge peds, it is located in the medical park in the same building as womens health group.

Is amber or autumn behind dis ?
