ARE YOU KIDDING? NO INJURIES? THESE KIDS HAVE BEEN TRAUMATIZED AND BRUSES ON THEIR BODY. Yes there are injuries. I know the kids that where in this accident and they where hurt, maybe not dead or a limb missing but hurt none the less. The bus driver got his leg injuried and the kids said that his pants where ripped and all they say was his boxer shorts and no pants on. What was that all about really? The bus was not on it's side it was upside down also.

I moved to Illinois about 5 years ago and where I came from the speed limit around a school district before and after school was 15 miles per hour. Here in Illinois it is 25 miles per hour. I NEVER see anyone going 25 miles an hour on Reed Rd. before or after school. And in fact I have been honked at cursed at and passed by when I have slowed down in the School zone. So if the white car was actually going the set speed limit for that time of day which is 25 mph then it could have slowed down enough and not hit the bus. Furthermore I believe that there should be a traffic patrol to let the busses out so that they can bring our children home safely. With that said I am asking everyone, Please when you are on Reed Rd. before or after school hours please slow down so that this never happens again. We are very lucky that none of those children were hurt, we may not be so lucky next time.

I want to thank all the people who are concerned about the accident for their comments.
I am the grandmother of the two girls on this bus. These children all 3 were injured. The Daily Herald should not print news until they get all the facts. The bus driver was in the wrong and that came from my 5 and 10 year old granddaughters themselves that sat there and watched what transpired. This has been very hard on my family and my grandchildren will never be the same after this experience. My 10 year old granddaughter has a mild concussion and the 5 year old was rushed to the hospital last night vomiting blood with other complications as well.
For all concerned for the safety of our children something should be done to protect them when they are in the hands of people that should take special care in protecting them coming and going to school when their parents can't be there with them. I think that they should change the speed limit on any streets where children are present.

I have seen these bus drivers pull out in front of cars time after time. I do realize that there is a lot more traffic than in years past, but that is no excuse to just assume that because you are a bus you don't have to yeild to oncoming traffic and that everyone around you will forgive that you aren't driving safely. I have called the phone number on the back of the busses before to complain about being pulled out in front of while on route 62 when the speed limit was 55 and it was only a two lane road!! I think the bus drivers need a refresher course in safe driving. Taking an extra few minutes on everyones part to be a consious safe driver is worth the possible alternative.
I hate to say, but the bus drivers this year seem to be the worst ones I have experienced yet as far as driving safely. As I am posting this, there has been yet another accident in the same area in front of Chesak School.

Thank You concerned mom from Dundee, I am the concerned mom from Lake in the Hills and I was involved in the accident this morning. I find it very ironic that just a couple of months ago I was commenting on the bus accident and how we should all slow down before it happens again, and here I sat on the side of the road this morning involved in the accident you are refering to. Not one person was going the school posted speed limit even when there was ice on the roads. Thankfully my children and I are OK. Please everyone slow down....
