I don't think I'm done saying what I want to say.

I'll say this right now, when I come home from work, I turn on the computer most nights, find The Lane, read about the day, and respond hoping to see someone I like and get to know them better.

When I am cleaning the house, I turn on the computer, find The Lane, and hit the refresh button whenever I walk past the computer. I usually have utube on for music in another tab.

When I am surfing the web, I turn on the computer, find The Lane, minimize the screen and study on another tab.

Other people's moods affect mine. These peeps are like a family in the house - fills the empty nest.

I've stopped in the A threads once in a great while - you guys have that world covered - don't need my assistance and you say everything I want to say and a few things I would never think. I appreciate the new information on the case - but - when the new material dries up - there is a world I don't have time to understand with your personal information and your thread problems and the trolls.

We support you, quietly.
We know each other. We support each other.
We get it.

And ALL are welcome to join the love here. Lately, I am suspicious of anyone who decides to participate. Everyone seems to have an agenda. So, yeah, we're tightening up. And that makes me sad.

And another thing, I see what a few are saying or suggesting about Ruby, and I don't like it. I don't agree. It takes a LONG time fro me to get exasperated enough to throw somebody under That dam/ned road trip bus.
You have your opinions and I will thank you to let me have mine!

I think you have hit the nail on the head, in many ways, but just want to add my 2 cts.
If there is one thing I have learned in all these 57 years, it is that human beings are made up of good and evil. We all inherently have hate, cruelty, dishonesty, lust, selfishness, narcissism, etc. inside our "hearts" right alongside all of our virtues of love, compassion, empathy, generosity, honesty, etc. That is simply human nature.
Many of these negative feelings came out in our initial outrage over the murder of a baby by her own mother. But we felt, I believe, even MORE outrage over the denial of the grandma to admit that any "evil" could be associated with her or hers. Simple repression of the negative that we ALL have inside. Cindy denies because to admit, would force her to admit her participation in the motive: spite. She prefers to be holier than thou, and uses references to her "faith" to make herself untouchable. It was our outrage over this, our "hate" that brought us all together on the Ant threads in the beginning.
And it was the good in all of us that motivated the creation of a thread to share our memories. It was a blast, in the beginning.
However, IMO, some wished to repress their origins, and reinvent themselves into some kind of saint, who never had a bad feeling about anybody, never said an unkind word. And to elevate themselves to a level from which they could now criticize their old "friends". At this point, many "regulars" dropped by the wayside, I am one.
I now see that you have even come up with a list of the evil and dangerous posters. IMO the ability to let out your hate and cruelty, through a pressure valve, leads to health. Repression builds up and will finally explode. Cindy is a good example.
For me, the threads have worked as a kind of therapy, I can let out all the hate and anger into cyberspace that I keep repressed in the real world. I am not totally successful yet, but I am learning. That is why I adore some of the posters you all deem "hatemongers". They simply represent people who are able to release their outrage in a safe way, get it out, and then go on with a "virtuous" and HEALTHY life.
I guess the turn of events is natural, in a way. But I do see the circle getting smaller and smaller. Closer and closer in appearance to the existing "compassionate" group. Is that who you are?
Love me or leave me, I am what I am. Love it or leave it, it is what it is.
And yes, Shan, the forum has become BORING. I come, I read, I fall asleep, or jump back into the war zone, where the conversation is REAL and ALIVE. Sorry....
Weezie B....I love your post and I love your honesty. You hit the nail right on the head and said so much.

Take care of yourself....big HUGS to ya!

Now you've got me on a roll. LOL !

You guys fly through the lane, give your casual observer opinions or put downs, then your outta here.
My casual opinion of a poster on The Anthony threads is this. To an outsider that doesn't really know what is going on is this.
You have a faithful poster doing the same thing over there as Liz did here, and she is way more outspoken about it!
Dollars to donuts some of you grit your teeth when she shows up posting the same old stuff.
When are you guys going to reach the point when you say "no more?"

I think she should open a bag of mint Milano's eat them while she shops then just put the bag on a shelf. Maybe go to the cooler open a jug of milk and wash the Milano's down, then put it back in cooler. She would quickly be the center of attention. chuckle

When I started posting, I realized that I had an opinion on just about anything; boy was I excited that I could say what I wanted to say.
Once I put something in writing,
I had to defend it.
That became more entertaining.
I posted my share of hate.
I didn't like the experience.
I found myself here.
Snarky said it best,
"Those of us that do not wish for this thread to become like the others feel like we must walk on egg shells. Look at what happens when we don't!"
People have different reasons for being here.
I enjoy the PEACE.
I don't know about anyone else, but most of the best conversations I've ever had in real life are full of love and stories about family.
Ouiser, a lot of what you said is true.
Some of it doesn't fit how I think. For example, Cindy, IMHO comes off as a person who has no repressed anger.
This thread filled a need for many people for quite a while. Most of the 'regulars' here are new to posting and I speak for myself when I say I'd rather post in a way that makes other people feel better than in a way that makes me miserable. If that makes me someone I'm not, I'd be surprised.
I believe there are a few people out there who would like to participate in cyberworld - but sit back. I wonder why.
Yes, The Lane is boring.
I've worked very hard in my life to seek boring. To me: Boring is the new black.
Maybe it is time.
Amen and amen. I believe everyone has enough drama in their real, everyday lives, that boring is a GOOD thing.

Been there, done that. Totally know how you feel about "agendas". However, what I hope you will understand is that this is exactly how Trolls want you to feel. They get in the middle, stir it up, and then make you question everyone and everything. Heck, some of the Trolls out there have pointed fingers at people in my private forum as being "moles". At first, I went crazy - started being suspicious of a lot of people on my forum. However, what I ended up doing was trusting my judgment of the people that are there. They are good people - simple as that. Sure, a few like to go have a little "release time" against a few posters - but that's not something I feel is any of my business to control. What they do on public threads is their business - not mine. What they do on my forum IS my business, and I will tell you, the forum I have is very much peaceful (like the thread here).

Some of the people that were named in the "Troll" list are my personal friends, and they are also people that have been around these threads posting for a very long time. They are humorous, crazy, intelligent, and they just don't take any garbage off of anyone. They call a spade a spade, and some people just don't like that. Some people prefer to have things "fluffed", and I am sorry, that's not reality. If we all got along and didn't have a difference in opinions and ideas - well, this world would be pretty boring.

Take care of yourself and have a good one.

Marley,

What you have to realize is this is a public thread. Even though it usually only contains specific people on here, it still is a public thread. If you don't want specific people to "fly through your lane", then I would suggest opening a private forum that is strictly done by invite only. Trust me, it has solved a lot for us.

Give it some thought - but you just can't control who comes in to a public place.

SIGH! That is just it Jenni, ya'll don't seem to realize we are not trying to control anything.
You seem to think that just because an opinion other than your own is voiced that I am trying to control something? I am old. I learned a long time ago that, that is impossible.

Hi Jenni-
I've seen you around for a long time.
i don't know your personal viewpoints completely but your name brings a warm feeling when I see it.

Take the 'list' with a salt lick. It was someone's opinion and that someone hasn't been a 'regular' poster - yet, but they are welcome to join in on the fun and leave the garbage out of The Lane.

I don't believe that everyone enjoys fighting.
I understand why some people do and I respect that. No. Really. I see the need. I read somewhere that the peace-makers are hated in cyber world and I believe it with the current climate - but I see a new personality finding these threads and looking for a place to land. People seek and crave kindness.

Call me crazy, you won't be the first.

I think your forum sounds neat.
Best of luck keeping the peace there.

Hope to see you joining the fun here.

Stroll on.

I have just one thing to say..I see no winners on any thread..why would you say that?I feel very unwelcomed and uncomfortable posting here...My original thought was let it go but right now its eating away at me...why would anyone feel this thread would go poof? You people hear are very suspicious of anyone not in your little circle of friends... as I said 'hello' this morning and not 1 of you responded with even a word..I know my name was on that list that 'please stop' wrote...I am the farthest thing from a troll but i guess judgement was passed in that statement..
