If there is one thing I have learned in all these 57 years, it is that human beings are made up of good and evil. We all inherently have hate, cruelty, dishonesty, lust, selfishness, narcissism, etc. inside our "hearts" right alongside all of our virtues of love, compassion, empathy, generosity, honesty, etc. That is simply human nature. Many of these negative feelings came out in our initial outrage over the murder of a baby by her own mother. But we felt, I believe, even MORE outrage over the denial of the grandma to admit that any "evil" could be associated with her or hers. Simple repression of the negative that we ALL have inside. Cindy denies because to admit, would force her to admit her participation in the motive: spite. She prefers to be holier than thou, and uses references to her "faith" to make herself untouchable. It was our outrage over this, our "hate" that brought us all together on the Ant threads in the beginning. And it was the good in all of us that motivated the creation of a thread to share our memories. It was a blast, in the beginning. However, IMO, some wished to repress their origins, and reinvent themselves into some kind of saint, who never had a bad feeling about anybody, never said an unkind word. And to elevate themselves to a level from which they could now criticize their old "friends". At this point, many "regulars" dropped by the wayside, I am one. I now see that you have even come up with a list of the evil and dangerous posters. IMO the ability to let out your hate and cruelty, through a pressure valve, leads to health. Repression builds up and will finally explode. Cindy is a good example. For me, the threads have worked as a kind of therapy, I can let out all the hate and anger into cyberspace that I keep repressed in the real world. I am not totally successful yet, but I am learning. That is why I adore some of the posters you all deem "hatemongers". They simply represent people who are able to release their outrage in a safe way, get it out, and then go on with a "virtuous" and HEALTHY life. I guess the turn of events is natural, in a way. But I do see the circle getting smaller and smaller. Closer and closer in appearance to the existing "compassionate" group. Is that who you are? Love me or leave me, I am what I am. Love it or leave it, it is what it is. And yes, Shan, the forum has become BORING. I come, I read, I fall asleep, or jump back into the war zone, where the conversation is REAL and ALIVE. Sorry....

I read all his books and A & D was by far the best. Digital Fortress was my least favorite, but it was good. I don't like to see a movie before I read a book -- it changes the way I see it when I read it. Sorry to butt in -- Stroll on You're not butting in. I didn't think we worried about that here anyway. lol I've had others tell me they thought A & D was better than TDC. I had started to read TDC sometime ago but then my one grandson wanted to read it and since it was my daughter's book I'd borrowed, I returned it. Figured he'd get through it faster than I would anyway. I'm like you...I don't like to go and see the movie until after I've read the book. When reading, you're more privy to all the details that always get left out when they write a screenplay based on the book. Thanks for the info.:)

Cajun Queen wrote: <quoted text> Not really, Angels and Demons was a much better book than DaVinci Code, they really aren't related. Angels and Demons is about anti-matter, the "god particle". I am a Catholic and I found this book and movie to be neither anti-religion nor anti-Catholic. It is a work of fiction and that is the only way to look at it. When you go to see Star Trek or any other movie, you accept that it is a story and that's it. The same applies with DaVinci Code and Angels and Demons, I am comfortable enough with my religion to accept the difference between fact and fiction. The scenes of Rome and the Vatican were fantastic. I would so love to visit there someday. But the movie was a 7 out of 10, I guess that's pretty good. But the book, well, it was a 10, I didn't want it to end, it is a very good mystery with a surprise ending. Thanks so much, Queen. You've inspired me to dig out that book and start reading it. Hope you had a wonderful anniversary yesterday. Have a great Sunday.

They have a little restaurant there that serves the best coney island hotdogs.

She read the blogs & copied them all, somehow it will be worked into her defense. Recently had elections here & I was out campaigning. No doubt, I'm indeed boring, put still filled with passion. That is very enlightening!
I now see that you have even come up with a list of the evil and dangerous posters.
Don't say "you have come up with a list". The only list that I have seen didn't come from any of us. I don't remember who felt it necessary to provide a list of "bad" people, but it wasn't anyone that is a regular here.
That is why I adore some of the posters you all deem "hatemongers".
We have deemed no one as a "hatemonger".
They simply represent people who are able to release their outrage in a safe way, get it out, and then go on with a "virtuous" and HEALTHY life.
My function in life and/or on this thread is NOT to have to listen to their crap so they can "release their outrange in a safe way ... " I'm not a health care professional and it is not my job to send them on their way to a HEALTHY life.
I guess the turn of events is natural, in a way. But I do see the circle getting smaller and smaller. Closer and closer in appearance to the existing "compassionate" group. Is that who you are?
I'm not sure what a "compassionate" group is.
Love me or leave me, I am what I am. Love it or leave it, it is what it is.
We have never told anybody that! In fact we make it a point of saying all are welcome. People are free to talk about the Ants if they want to and some do from time to time. They do not get much of a reaction from the group because some of us aren't into analyzing every detail of that case, but we respect anyone who wants to discuss that. The people we have told are not welcome here are the ones who come her trying to drag us into the conflicts on the other threads. People who have never posted here before come here and cut and paste something from over there and expect us to immediate jump into the fray.
And yes, Shan, the forum has become BORING.
Yes it has. Those of us that do not wish for this thread to become like the others feel like we must walk on egg shells. Look at what happens when we don't!
I come, I read, I fall asleep, or jump back into the war zone, where the conversation is REAL and ALIVE. Sorry.... Yes, this thread is about dead. Too bad many of you former posters don't come over and post in a constructive way. There must be an interest because enough people read it. Yes the Lane is about to close. It was a fun while lasted.

Some of my responses to Ouiser are within the text of her post, not just the two lines at the bottom. I didn't realize it would format like that.
