The ramrod WAS left in the barrel! The forts cannon demo uses a relatively small charge. The ramrod normally would shatter under a heavy load , in this case the charge was enough to send some or all of it some 200 yards to where this guy was sitting. I grew up in the area ,the distance from where they fire to the lake is about that far. If it did break up in pieces I'm amazed no one was hurt more seriously. |
