There are better places to go, but, if you do come here, be careful of our corrupt police, especially Officer Scott Albrecht. He loves shaking down people from out of state. He looks for out of state cars for victims.

Two Wisconsin National Guardsmen, who both served two tours of duty in Iraq, filed a federal civil rights lawsuit Monday against the city of Wisconsin Dells, its police chief and three officers because they were forced to lap up what was believed to be human urine from the ground this summer.
The guardsmen were in the Dells after weekend training and were stopped by police officers Wayne W. Thomas and Collin H. Jacobson early the morning of June 1 and accused of having urinated in public, according to a lawsuit filed Monday in U.S. District Court in Madison.
The officers pointed out a wet spot in an alley that they thought was urine, the lawsuit states, but the guardsmen, Sgt. Anthony R. Anderson, of West Bend, and Specialist Robert C. Schiman, of Kaukauna, denied having relieved themselves in the alley.
In order to prove that it was not their urine and avoid a citation, Thomas and Jacobson made Anderson and Schiman lick the ground and scrape mud up with their hands and lick it, according to the lawsuit. Schiman was also made to eat a plant that was drenched in the liquid, the lawsuit states.
After the soldiers were released without citations, Jacobson told Officer Scott Albrecht, "I can't stop laughing. Wayne just made those two guys lick their own piss off the ground," according to the lawsuit.
The suit alleges infliction of emotional distress on the soldiers; negligent hiring, training and supervision of Thomas and Jacobson; false imprisonment and violation of the Constitutional and civil rights of Anderson and Schiman. It seeks $600,000 in compensatory and punitive damages for each of the guardsmen, along with other unspecified damages and costs.
According to the lawsuit, the soldiers felt, "intimidated, threatened, humiliated and at the mercy of the two Wisconsin Dells police officers" and have received help regarding their mental health as a result of the incident.
Their attorney, Jason Baltz of Whitefish Bay, declined to comment on the lawsuit and said he had instructed his clients not to comment as well.
Wisconsin Dells Police Chief Bret Anderson, who is also named as a defendant in the lawsuit, also declined to comment. He referred questions to City Attorney James Gerlach.
Gerlach declined to comment on the case when contacted Wednesday, and said his office has not seen a copy of the lawsuit yet.
The lawsuit states that Thomas, 19, was fired the same day as the incident and Jacobson, 20, was suspended for two weeks without pay. Both were limited term police officers who only worked during the summer.
Thomas was hired by the department in 2006 and Jacobson, who knew Bret Anderson since he was seven and listed him as a reference on his application, was hired in 2007.
Jacobson also accumulated other complaints and policy violations within his first 18 months as an officer, according to the lawsuit. He is no longer with the department, Bret Anderson said Wednesday.
Albrecht, a full-time officer, was cited by the department for failing to follow procedures, and is still with the department.
According to the lawsuit, after having forced Anderson and Schiman to lick the wet ground, Anderson was made to do it again after one of the officers said he didn't see it. "That's not good enough," the officer said. "Do you want a ticket?"
After the two were released from the scene, they told their story to Albrecht while Jacobson and Thomas stood nearby. Then, as Albrecht stood by, Anderson and Schiman asked Thomas and Jacobson for the name of their commanding officer, but were threatened with burglary charges if they filed a complaint. The two officers told the soldiers that nobody would believe their story.
Albrecht failed to intervene after the above statements and threats were made.
The two soldiers filed complaints that night, and Sgt. Perry Mayer, the commanding officer on duty, interviewed the three police officers and looked at the scene of the incident.

i live in chicago and going this weekend in wisconsin dells, thanks for the info on those corrupt cops. Is there any complaints against them? now we just cant be worried of our safety from criminals but cops too, i think im more scared of the cops.

Sounds like I can go hunting this weekend in Wisconsin.

Yea, some of the Wisconsin Dells Police are corrupt. I have seen them pushing around some younsters. And what they did to our soldiers is criminal. I won't shop or go to any of the bars in the Dells.It seems that the Mayor and Police Chief look the other way when officers like Scott Albrecht do corrupt things to people. Tell all your family and friends to boycott the Dells.

Everyone knows that the W.D. Cops are a joke. They have been for years.

How true! I witnessed this all over WI. Women there have NO pride. Just ride and walk.

Ok, I know this is an old post, but Sue, from Elk Grove Village, IL, it's just sad that you feel it necessary to trash ALL women from Wisconsin. I feel really sorry for you. Shame on you. Corrupt police suck, but then you take it there? You obviously have no pride in yourself if you're willing to make blanket statements like this.
