Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts: South Florida troops try to attract...

I loved my kids being in Scouts.

I find it offensive that the troop in PBC is being given the Scout's blessing to create a 100% Hispanic troop. If anyone EVER advertised that they were creating a 100% WASP troop then all hell would break loose. Whatever happened to the concept of diversity? One of the troop leaders herself says "It's no longer that one Anglo look, it's very exciting." What an absolute utter insult to the Anglo girls in your troop, if there are any. This woman ought to be sanctioned in some way. Insert any other ethnicity in that sentence and she'd be fired in a heart beat. Guess the only people that are responsible for practicing diversity are whites of European descent.

How unfair that other ethnicities are given carte blanche to form exclusive groups and enjoy each other's company without being burdened with outsiders from other ethnic groups. But if it's a group of white's we always have to add some color to the mix.

And people think the Klan is racist!

It is a problem. My kids are moreno Latinos. I tell them they are half Hispanic but 100% American. The Latino kids in our troop are indistinguishable from kids of any or heritage except that their parents generally speak Spanish.

The whole point is they should be looked upon as children, not "Hispanics". God bless them but we want to include them as Americans, not exclude them as Hispanics. Segregation by race or culture for any reason is a simply wrong and in many cases evil.

It is so cool to see a Latino version of me in my kids.

They will be sorry. Trustworty, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean and Reverent is the Scout LAW. Its not things you SAY, its what you ARE, and how you live your LIFE. Putting that in the hands of a Gang banging drug dealing tatooed punk like this just to get MEMBERSHIP is a waste of a Million dollars, and puts the enemy IN the campsite. Foolish of the Scout Council, but everything they have for sale now is from China, so its lost its American values specialness.
