Politically correct?!Are you kidding me? Our school has been Riverside Rebels for years and that has nothing to do with colors of our skin. I am not racist and our school flag doesnt mean we are a racist school. Maybe you need a history lesson. Rebel flag doesn't symbolize racism. Its our southern pride. Yes we do have a black president yay that is wonderful. Im proud to be a redneck woman and if you dont like it move to the north!

I am certainly not racist. And none of my friends are racist. Just because you stereotype us as rednecks and you stereotype that as being racist that doesnt make it the truth. We are all gods children. And I do not think that it is fair for our school to have to change its name just because some people out of ignorance think that rebel means racist. We have other races go to our school and they do not have a problem with the flag or the name so y do you?

No we should not have to change a thing. Yall are discriminating against our school thats what i think. Caraway/LakeCity is a good school district and people belly aching wanting us to change our name because they want to view it as bad when it is not. That is unfair to our students. No one is being hurt by the name/mascot so what is the problem? People go way to far with racist stuff it is ridiculous like you said this is 2012 everyone get over it and lets just get along. Stop whining like little kids. Leave the past in the past and lets live for today

I had a friend from bay who told me thst the reason we can't do the rebel flag anymore is because some schools found it offensive and no the rebel flag isn't a symbol of racism it is southern pride I'm black and I know that so everyone grow up
