Hey did you find a partner also. Could you pls tell me the address of the place where you play badminton as I am having a tough time finding badminton courts
Hi Gala, glad to see someone finally respond lol. The Kissimmee Civic Center has 2 courts, and we meet Mondays & Wednesdays around 5:30/6 to 8:30. It's 5 dollars for a drop in, and they have an offer of 20 visits for 20 dollars if you keep coming. We are a small group here... but with that we get ALOT of play time. We have an olympian coach that plays with us, so if you need help or have questions, he has an amazing amount of knowledge for the game. I'm not sure where you're coming from, but the civic center is in downtown kissimmee, on Dakon street. Coming from JohnYoung, go onto mainstreet to Dakon or coming from 192, go onto Mainstreet to Dakon. The turn onto Dakon, theres a Bar named 3Sisters. You'll cross a Railroad and the civic center is on your left along with a library, they're both huge buildings, you shouldn't have too much trouble finding it.
Wednesdays & Sundays there College Park in Orlando, Sunday is 1 - 6, wednesday I'm not too sure of the hours. Again, same thing there, it is very very quiet but you can get good practice in there. It's 5 dollars for a drop in and 30 a month for a membership.
Then, Tuesdays 6 - 10. Wednesdays 6 - 10, Saturdays 9 - 1 & Sundays 1 - 6, is a place in Orlando called ClearOne. This place is the mecha of badminton lol. It has 13 courts, it is badminton designated, and they have a very large player base on those nights. It's 7 dollars for a drop in. They have many many different options there, from lessons to gear to court rentals.
BUT... in Kissimmee like I said, it's a small group. Everyones friendly, helpful and willing to teach anyone. We get a ton of play time. At clearone you're going to have extremely tough competition as well as probably not as much play time even with all the extra courts.
So, to me, Kissimmee is the training and normal place I go.... Clearone is the test to see how far I've come.
If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask. Hope this helps, and hope to see you at Kissimmee!!
P.S. Bad timing... but the civic center is closed on the 4th ;\
