Dr. Dav id Pass- loved MV Peditirican

I just heard the news that Dr. David Pass a local Peditrican passed away on Good Friday. He has been the best support for me and my family. All of our friends are in shock and are confused. If anyone has any onfo on what happened, I would really like to know.

Dr. Pass has been our Pediatrician for over 17 years. We will miss him dearly. My step-sister told me that a friend of hers lives down the street from him and that after he took the kids to school and his wife Patty went to the gym he went home and shot himself in the head. I wish I knew why too.

I grew up with David in Washington state and dated him in college. Please do not start rumors until we find out what really happened. It doesn't help any of us understand this. I have known David since 1970 and he was a wonderful person.

Dr. Pass was my child's pediatrician and we will miss him dearly. I heard the rumors about the suicide and spoke with the office staff and they indicated that nothing was confirmed by the family.

Unfortunitly, the rumors are true (they have been confirmed by close family friends and also mentioned at his memorial service). However, we don't know the circumstances so no one should judge him. He is a wonderful man, and anyone who has ever met him knows that. If I for one minute would have thought that it was anything other then a medical condition I would have never asked. I'm so sorry ECW for your loss. And your right, we will never understand.

My husband and I adopted a little boy from Russia 9 years ago. We met with different peditricians, to see who felt comfortable with. We met Dr Pass and immediatly knew he was the Doctor for our little boy. He was always kind and caring. We will miss him

I am still numb over the passing of a man my family will always have the greatest respect,admiration and love for. Dr. Pass was a wonderful Dr. who I trusted with my two biggest gifts in life. Knowing the events of last week does not change my feelings towards this great guy. What is somewhat comforting at this time is knowing his pain is gone. I will miss that Mr. Wholesome calm face in the office, but will always smile whenever I hear a bird chirp. God bless the Pass Family

Coming from a Dr.'s Family - unfortunately Dr.'s are the worst patients - they rarely reach out for help when they need it the most - it is so unfortunate.

We were just heartbroken when we read the paper. Our family wishes we can do more for the Pass family. David Pass was a wonderful person and beloved physician. If he did indeed commit sucide I can only imagine that it was an extreem choice under dire circumstances. That does not and would not dimish the respect and love that our family has for Dr. Pass. That he still should be remembered for his acomplishments and demenior. I am just so sorry he is longer with us and will not get to see his family grow up and start their own families. This is such a tragedy to all. His family, his friends, his patients. Rest in Peace, David.

Dr. Pass was our pediatrician for 8 years. We loved his gentle, calm, and always professional manner.
We will miss Dr. Pass so much. We were all fortunate to have such a wonderful man caring for our children.
Our hearts are breaking for his family and his patients.

We also loved Dr Pass my 3 year old daughter even played doctor saying her name was Dr Pass He will be missed very much. What paper did you read this article in

It wasn't an article it was the obituary section that Monday after Easter. It was just a small notice. This blog has been the most spoken about the incident. Yet over 350+ people attended the funeral.
The next weeks and months will be the hardest as the Pass family goes thru all thier emotions. I just hope God embraces them and strenghens thier resolve as a family. Sucide can bring out the best or the worst in those who are left behind.

I was wondering if any of you have an idea on who the new doctor will be? Are you guys planning on staying with the practice or going elsewhere?

I hear they are testing several canidates thru the office. Patti is being extreamly picky. I figure I will interview the doctor that is selected. There is a Dr. Yeoung working there now from KIDS DOC who is wonderful.

I hope it works out for their office. This was a huge loss for the Pass family and the extended families who followed him to his new practice as well.

Yet we still don't really know WHY ?

We miss Dr. Pass, too. When my small son had to go see the new doctor, he asked me on the way over if I thought the little birdie would still be there...how precious is that? God bless the Pass family.

We just moved back to the OC from AZ and went to book appts for our two children, of course with the intention of returning to Dr. Pass, and then finding out that he had passed away in April we were shocked. My oldest has really only known him as her doctor and is quite sad. He was a wonderful doctor and a kind and reasuring face that always made us at ease when at the doctors office. Our hearts and prayers go out to Patti and her family, she has always appeared to be a strong and good person. God bless

Dr. Pass was our Dr. too and will be greatly missed. Although nothing justifies why someone would take their own life, I had heard he was recently diagnosed with Parkinsons and maybe this could be why???

Are you sure? I never heard that rumor. Does anyone know the family, how are they doing. Its about to be a year since this happened. Also, do any of you go to the new practice with Lin and Lo? Great Dr's. I love Dr. Pass but these two are just as wonderful
