$200 and $400 fines for barking dogs.

No enforcement of fireworks laws-supposedly only on July 4th from 4-10Pm can they be used.

Fireworks explosions and blasts set off dogs barking in my neighborhood several times in this past week.

I urge all dog-owners to claim fireworks, gardeners in the neighborhood with noisy tools, police sirens, motorcycles, or whatever extraneous noise is the cause of their dog's barking.

I urge this defense only because the police threatened to arrest me for calling in complaints on fireworks. The mayor of Costa Mesa ruminated in his comments at a city council meeting that old people were the complainers about fireworks.

Perhaps the Costa Mesa City Council will consider their responsibility and culpability in causing dogs to bark!

Does anyone know how this relates to businesses that conduct dog grooming/boarding?

There is an answer!
After 3 years of 10+ dogs in the neighborhood, some company finally came out with an effective device called, "Dog Silencer Pro"

Works great for past 3 months.
Hope that helps.

As a new homeowner with barking dogs next door it's nice to know I have some recourse if necessary. I could care less about dogs barking during the day, but the other night they barked from 2:15am to 3:45am. I never heard the owners trying to quiet them (there were no fireworks, gardners, or other noises at the time). People need to be responsible for their pets and respectful of their neighbors. It's really not too much to ask.

I live in Costa Mesa we have several negligent dog owners in our neighborhood that let their dog bark all night long. I have a dog, and I am all over her barking for no reason. usually the people that let their dog bark are the ones that are gone for the day and don't know their dogs bark. when the city warns them they will usually do something about it. If you can't manage a pet don't have them.
