I bet it comes no where near 50k let alone 100k. And no, I'm not bragging simply defending my name. We have never been, or will be poor due to the HARD WORK my wife and I have done over the years. It's really sad that you put down a doctor and a cop, two people who dedicate our lives to help other people. You really are bitter. Give me your name and I'll make sure the police never help you and your family, and you recieve no medical care for you.

I have a prosperous business and several rental property's as well as farmland which I also lease out.
I also have Verizon and I have unlimited Internet as I've had since smartphones became available!
I'm not bitter at anyone just enjoying the comic value of these people who think being a cop is a wonderful job.
Low pay nighttime hours but you just sit on your butt guess that what makes it attractive!

You'd really be suspended by my income!
And it's into 6 digits easily and my wife will never have to work
Her job is at home with our kid!

i respect police officers but these 'threats' from the soon to be cop seems that he is going to use that badge for a big power trip and that isn't right. to say you'll ticket everyone with a lafayette plate is a bit of proof. you are providing a lot of information that does not pertain to the argument so seems you're protesting a bit much.

I just wonder what the wannabe cop is going to do if his so called "doc" of a wife puts him out.
I really don't believe someone with enough ambition to be a doc would settle for a man with the ambition to settle for being a cop.
Something is getting deep and smelling bad around here!

I agree but that's like saying we should respect all cops
Cops are just men like everyone else
The impression that I got from this one was he was special for some reason or another and was going to use his position for power
I'll respect any man cop or not that deserves it and respect is earned--- it don't come with a uniform

I came into this discussion late on the tail end
My point is anyone that depends on someone else for their well being is in trouble
How many hear of divorces after many many years?
If he's depending on his wife that could be something thats out of his control in the future
Just saying that's all

TOTALLY agree, nor does it come with that little bitty badge that a little bitty man (?) is hiding behind. his comments/attitude is a perfect example of why so many do not respect cops/law

So from what you are saying that can go both ways. alot of wives stay at home and rely on the husband for income. they are in trouble, marriage ends in divorce? Nobody in my family or friends have divorced all of which including myself have at least 10 years of marriage under our belts. you seem to know it all dont you. maybe that is how it works here in the souyh but we come from new england where we pull our own weight and then some despite our gender. if one partner falls on hard times the other compensates with more income to sustain our lifestyle

Our laws make exceptions for none working wives it's called alimony
Anybody can get a divorce because you don't own each other and you never are sure what someone else might do
I know exactly what I'm going to eat for lunch but even if my wife tells me what she's going to have it don't mean she won't change her mind before she eats
Nobody never really knows for sure what's someone else is gonna do!!!!

i'll be a little more clear. if they are breaking the law then of course they should be stopped and ticketed, but that is not what soon to be cop said. he said he would get anyone with a lafayette plate, no matter what it was. then named off numerous infractions, some very minute. sounds like a wanna be tough guy behind a badge to me. is all.

Try it sometime buddy. Seems like you might be a spoiled brat. It is a low pay job, that's even more reason to respect them. I bet if you needed them you wouldn't hesitate to call and they wouldn't hesitate to come. So see they don't do it for the money they do it for the community. They would be running in to save you and your family while you are running out. Try to be a little more respectful of the guys making low pay but have high courage !!
