Being a cop isn't that dangerous google " deadliest jobs in US" and you'll be surprised
Being a farmer or fisherman is way more dangerous
Remember a lazy person always makes good cop material

How about none of you that are bashing the police: Don't call them if you need them, they don't need to waste gas coming to your sorry ass. So just handle it yourself. Let me know how that works out for ya !!!!

"In the Know". I googled it. Figure I would at least look at what you were saying. You are partially right, and you are dealing statistics, which can be tweaked to any cause. Several sites lists police as 9 to 12 out 20 dangerous jobs. The stats are based on deaths and injuries. But other sites show LEO as 4 in deaths. It is a dangerous career. People mentioned no cops shot at in Macon recently. Should surprise you to know I can think of 5 officers shot in the past 5 years in this area. And none of those were places like Gallatin, Hendersonville, or larger areas. Police are a resource that few know about, but like to complain about. Until they truly need that resource and are thankful for a short time.

Its not as dangerous as being a truck driver- farmer- fisherman- logger
Do you hear any of them whining about danger or pay?
Cops & teachers continuously whine about pay why?
It's a free country go do something else if you don't like the pay!

You are truly a moron arent you? Probably a cop as well. I doubt you even went to the TBI site and looked yourself. Crime has historically been low in Macon county regardless of what worthless cop is on the job. They compare population bases and get a per captia average, try not to be a dumb a$$ your whole life.

Only time I have ever called a cop was an after the fact report, only for insurances at that. The reason the people become cops is generally because they cant do anything else. They dont really want to work for a living or attempt anything too difficult. Cop is a nice cushy job in rural places like Macon county.

I am not a cop. I am the wife of a police officer. I am also an investigator for the elderly and disabled. I graduated with a 4.0 GPA. I am currently working on my 2nd Master's degree. I am not just educated; I am intelligent. I have a CCDW and I hear stories about my fiancés job every night. The stories I am told are only partial truths since my LEO attempts to shield me from the horrible facts...Most people who speak negatively about the police simply have no real working knowledge of the job. Their few contacts w/ police are usually negative.(DUI's, moving violations, basic assaults or "fights", MANY domestics) Believe me when I say that what you think you know about law enforcement is almost completely wrong unless you are in law enforcement.
Officers are spit on by junkies, the homeless, criminals who have HIV, AIDS, HepC, etc. They risk giving these diseases to their spouses...they are sucker punched, kicked, hit, when they "let their guard down" for a split second to ensure the screaming child is okay...they suffer a higher rate of divorce, heart attack, and stroke than the average person their age...they cry when they think noone is looking...after surgery, many refuse strong pain meds to ensure they do not become dependent on such drugs...they stand for hours in the heat, the cold, the rain, etc wearing 30 pounds of equipment...they are expected to administer life saving techniques when they are first on the scene meaning they give CPR to children drowned in pools, do chest compressions on your elderly relative, etc. Most of all...police officers become social workers. They listen, mediate and try to assist you, your family, your teenage daughter whose boyfriend just raped her. They change your wife's tire 3 hours quicker than AAA & if they can't, they will sit behind her vehicle and protect her with theirs until help arrives. They run into homes when there is a fire, while others instinctively run out. They deal with the pain and the nightmares that come along with fatal car accidents...dead families, dead babies, dying children, mothers and fathers. They give more people "breaks" than you would ever believe. Simply because your attitude or dangerous behavior did not warrant such a break does not mean they do not happen.
My fiancé has PTSD just like many soldiers and like others in a union, they expect fair pay & benefits yet no amount of money a city, county or state could ever "give" them could EVER equal what they all are willing to give to YOU regardless of how you feel about them...their LIFE. Many other careers are dangerous, yes. Most of those dangerous careers are not dangerous in the same way as law enforcement where the danger comes from other human beings trying to harm a LEO. Soldiers face danger, yes but no soldier is on the "front lines" for 30 years or more like many LEO's & many LEO's are soldiers themselves. Cops are willing to serve & protect your a$$, not kiss it.

First, it is spelled SURPRISED not suprized. Second, it is "AN educated" NOT "A educated".
Proper sentence: "If anything, you are an educated idiot!"
Third, the answer is BOTH. Legally, I am MARRIED by the marriage license effectuated by my husband and I. I still say and write fiancé because our wedding has not taken place yet. By law, you are married once the marriage license is effectuated. By ceremony, people tend to equate your "wedding" day as the time you take the title husband and wife.
You are so cute! This is fun. I am definitely going to show my class your posts as a quick grammar lesson. Thank you! ;)

He could have been hauling rubber chickens there and his life was in more danger than any cop in Macon county. Get a freaking grip, most the small town good ole boy cops are cops because they cant do anything else meaningful. I hear them whine all the time about pay, repsect, whatever. Here is an idea do something else, no one made you become a cop. To say your average Macon county cop puts his or her life on the line everytime they are on duty is just crap. Just go to the TBI website look up crime statistics for the county and per capitia crime rate then you will laugh at such a stupid assumption to.
Well....Actually, statistics show that rural LEO are at a higher risk for death than urban. Just saying.... Metro your nearest backup can be 2 streets over. A rural county such as Macon, the closest backup can be 15 minutes away. So it is very dangerous. You should be very thankful for law enforcement, especially those who take bigger risks for your safety.

Daily Horoscope for May 24

Leo

You have your head screwed on the right way when it comes to thinking about work and other important areas of your life. In fact, you're uncharacteristically practical and efficient. No one will be able to fool you. Ideally, you'll prefer your own company while you're doing all this because it will help you to concentrate more fully and not be distracted by what's happening around you.
