it sickens me reading what some of you believe should happen to the inmates. I mean there is so many small offenses you can end up in jail over many in which is out of your control. Ex. you are a parent who only has partial custody of your child due to a divorce the court demands child support be paid u get laid off at work and end up in jail due to failure to pay...or you just turned 18 someone in town jumps you but because all witnesses where that persons friend you get charged with assault....or the most common public intoxication...you are out with friend partying on an open field somewhere cops stop by if u are drunk and not in a home you get arresed for that....MANY PEOPLE commit harmless crimes and end up in jail and MANY MORE commit the same crimes and are still walking around free. If you are saying these immates should do us all a favor and hang themselves then u mise well say half the world should do the same. everyone as done something wrong in the past or present they just wasnt one caught. so think b4 your speak because many people take what you say in to mind and it causes nothing but caous

My point exactly. I do not condone breaking laws, but who among us has not done some small thing or known pretty nice folks that do and end up in jail. By definition they are a 'criminal'. According to "kill the criminals" "they should hand out nooses". I too am sick of paying for criminals; and I would agree "they need to hand out nooses" to the child molesters, but not all criminals deserve to be hung. IMHO.

I agree, there is a lack of reading comprehension. I believe on your part. Read "kill the criminals" comment and odd choice of handle I must say.

anyhoo, does any one even know anything about the inmate that tried to hang his or her self? Thats what this topix was about. not whether or not a crime is worth hanging.

The young man in question was incarcerated due to a failure to pay a traffic fine. I believe he was beaten, knocked unconcious, and hung with a bed cover. This person asked to be transfered out of the POD he was in due to death threats but was refused by jailers and was left with other inmates who carried out their threats without intervention from jail employees. This is not the first time this has happened in the Macon County Jail, nor is it the only impropriety that happens there. As I see at least the second guard being tried for having sex with inmates as well as at least 4 hangings in that jail in the last several years. My guess is the Sherrif does not screen his department very well before hiring and is not doing his job by allowing these things to continually happen. I only hope that the citizens of Macon County either have the type of person running their Justice System or have the courage to change it.
my point

this is a horrible travesty, and my point previously to "kill the criminals" about IMHO not all people that go to jail are "criminals" and need to be hung

this inmate was hung? I thought I read that he is ok?

if this happened just once it is inexcusable, but you say it's happened several times? how does this facility and administration allow this to happen without repercussions?

maybe more people there have the mind set like 'kill the criminals' stated. this is beyond sad and this mess needs attention.

The young man is in the hospital recovering from head and neck injuries along with numbness and severe swelling in the wrists and hands due to the handcuffs being to tight which were left on while he was unconcious. Upon regaining consiousness he was released from custody so the jail would not be held responsable for the medical bills. By the way to any doubters, one of the people hung in that jail was my cousin and he did not hang himself therefore I have first hand knowledge of these incidents.

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Aquarius

You're very feisty and energetic and there's a lot you want to achieve. You'll get rather impatient if anyone stands in your way. A close emotional relationship will either be sexy and exciting beyond belief, or bad-tempered and tetchy. If you're in a grumpy mood, try to work out why - and what would improve matters. One thing that's bound to help is physical exercise, because it will burn off any excess nervous energy.
