Petition to Repeal
Tennessee’s Photo ID to
Vote Law
Sign the online petition below. If you’d like to circulate the petition in your community, you can download the petition documents here. To read why we are against the law, visit ProtectTheVoteTN.org .
We reject Public Chapter No. 323 which requires eligible Tennessee voters to present a government-issued photo in order to vote.
We believe that Public Chapter No. 323 creates artificial and insurmountable barriers to the ballot box. As a result, this law discourages political participation by many Tennesseans who have a right to have a voice in the political process, in particular senior citizens, the disabled, rural and low-income voters, people of color, and college students.
Preserving access to the ballot box is key to preserving the fundamental principles on which this country was founded. Public Chapter No. 323 imposes an undue burden on Tennesseans seeking to enjoy the full benefits of democracy and must be repealed.
INSTRUCTIONS: To add your signature to the petition to repeal the Photo ID to Vote law in Tennessee, complete the form below. Tennessee Citizen Action will keep track and gather all signed petitions and deliver them to the Tennessee General Assembly when the legislative session starts again in January 2012. Your information will not be sold and will only be shared with partners in the No Barriers to the Ballot Box coalition.
The Protect the Vote TN coalition includes ACLU of Tennessee, AFL-CIO of Tennessee, Center for Independent Living of Middle TN, Common Cause of Tennessee, Interdenominational Ministers Fellowship (IMF), Mid-south Peace and Justice Center, NAACP of Tennessee, NAACP Nashville, Memphis Branch NAACP, Nashville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Nashville Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Inc., Organized Neighbors of Edgehill, Tennessee Citizen Action, Tennessee Mental Health Consumers Association, Tennessee Transgender Political Coalition, Urban EpiCenter, and The Urban League of Middle Tennessee. Yes, I read it! Nobody would ever prosecute a former President in this Country. We've learned that before when President Ford pardoned Nixon. Actually, I do agree that it would be too disruptive for our Country, but that still doesn't keep me from wishing another Country would do it.
Too disruptive? It is time this Great Nation stood again for what is right what made this country great in the first place.
What has been disrup[tive is the loss of trust of the American people and the people around the world in what we stand for.
How are we safe when we continue living a damn lie letting those in power run us in the ground.

Well, you "stupid skank", it's been reported by Biographers that Bush, Sr. did indeed have a Mistress in New York City! Read a book every once in awhile and you might know these things. And Bush, Sr. has NOT denied it! I can't remember her Name, but it was given!
BTW, Barbara has never denied it, either.

Good morning all !
I see everyone has given their take on the speakers at the Democratic Convention, and I don't want to be left out so here goes.
Best speech so far,
1) Michelle Obama
2) Bill Clinton
3) Sandra Fluke
Most disappointing speech,
Martin O'Malley (He is supposed to be a rising star in Dem. circles but this speech may do for him what another, best forgotten speech did for Republican Bobby Jindall)
Most of the speakers actually showcased why it is imperative that Americans re-elect Obama. That stands in sharp contrast to several Republican speakers who seemed MUCH more interested in showcasing their own accomplishments than those of Mitt Romney.
The one outstanding Republican speech from their convention was given by Mrs. Romney. The rest ....well.....not so much.
My favorite part was the vote on putting God back into the platform.

The Nays beat the Yeahs 4 times, but in typical democrat fashion, they denied the majority and put it back in.

Your entire party is a bunch of crooks, liars, and in the case of Trumka, a murderer.

Bush and Cheney were two clowns voted in.Like Obama ,e voted our hearts choice.
Clinton is now a motivational speaker as are many has beens.Go in groups sell the product to the audience. In this case they had to ensure an audience.74,000 was a little overrated. So they filled as many seats for him as possible.Duke Power is picking up the tab.Expecting a favor later.Just like AT&T is expecting a favor for Tampa bill picked up.
It was a pep rally to get them all fired up for the real game.Teams you know.
Don't be fooled by looking thu rose colored glasses.
Hard to forget Monica's dress she "saved".All planned to be Mrs . President.
When governor ,that was his lifestyle. He's lcky no woman ever filmed his escapades for Hillary to use in court. There certainly were enough for material.
I believe in being what you ought to be,true to the people you serve. They count on you.
Obama is cleaner than he is.He has a cloud over his head.
When memories all come back people will be thinking twice.
Understand,I voted for him too.Voted for Obama but this country is in serious financial trouble. We have a deficit unbelievable. We badly need the very best.We deserve the best for America gives her very best.WE should expect it back too. This country needs a new set of standards with automatic impeachment on violation...

And don't forget Clinton's impeachment. Lying under oath would get anyone else jail time.

UH...that's only because Nobody ever put him under oath and asked him the questions! They didn't have to, everybody already knows the answers...WORLD-WIDE!

I'll take a Womanizer anyday over an Alcoholic...well, maybe not because I don't want either one. But, as a President, I certainly would.
Besides, look at how dumb Bush looks and acts and you might understand why he wasn't a Womanizer. Being an Alcoholic didn't help, in that area, either!

What a nice post. The president should be seen more than his wife.WE have now a popularity contest.
The office of PRESIDENT should have honor and be the highest in the land with higest respect.. WE deserve the best no matter the party.
WE have had loose people long enough.Michelle does her part out in the open for all to see. She's openly honest. He's true to her.
Men should make other men proud they chose them.Thank you for enlightment today.Trouble must be addressed.People get hurt.WE need to seek only the best.
