Just another elected city official using the public office to get around the rules everyone else must follow.

Perhaps you read the article incorrectly. It is LONGS DRUG STORE that is the issue NOT Starbucks. Let's get the facts straight. The woman who owns the coffee establishment near by seems always to be dissatisfied with something no matter what.

This violation of the permit process and the Planning Commission's lack of oversight does not pass the smell test.

This is not a criticism of D. Fulton but rather of the City for letting him get away with it. This guy will take advantage of any situation when the chance arises and they should understand that by now.

Anything to add Lizzie?

If the City would just protect the citizen's right's by implementing the laws correctly maybe everyone would be a whole lot LESS DISSATISFIED.

maybe only one person is dissatisfied, which is the coffee lady losing all her business to the nearby starbucks. been to the center many times and parking and getting into the center is never an issue.

You are rude and ill mannered. It is a well known fact that the coffee shop owner has an ongoing issue with Starbucks but that was not the point of the newspaper article. The point was lack of required parking, skirting the requirements and possible nepotism.

So as a developer does this mean we can count on
developing in Benicia and they will reduce all our
parking by 50%. That means we can increase our building space, and in turn, get more
return on the buck, by leasing out more floor space. WHAT A DEAL! Here we come Benicia! Or hold on is the City going to give us the same sweet deal
that the Developer of the Rose Center Shopping Center received??? or is that only good for locals
who get a special pass?

I don't think you are very aware of the business climate in 2009. There are thousands of
us, small businesses, who have been damaged and put out of business, which you could say we are very dissatisfied because of these huge, multi-national companies, getting special favors from cities and able to surround a small business with all intentions of
taking their business. Let us see now. The population of Benicia is around 20,000 and I believe you have 5 Starbucks. That is 1 Starbucks per 4,000 residents?????? I think that is a bit excessive. I, personally, prefer character and uniqueness and to buy locally

Rose Center is the nicest development we have in the city. It took a long time to be built because of all the trouble from Ms. Wika. If it needs more parking, I'm sure that can be worked out without attacking Mr. Fulton's character.

Mr. Fulton has done enough damage to his own character. You
should check your sources before personally attacking someone else.
If you fully understand this article and what led up to it you would be pointing your finger in a different direction.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Scorpio

Something that you've always taken for granted or believed implicitly could have a big question mark hanging over it during the next few weeks. The more entrenched your views are about this, the more difficult it will be to accept that perhaps it's time for a change of opinion or, at the very least, a revaluation of what you think. Mercury turns retro in your house of communications, so do your best to be open-minded now.
