That used to happen to me constantly in vallejo.Not so much these days.

a spot light? there are laws AGAINST spotlighting. carry a movie camera and have it on when in these areas then file charges against the law breaker. have them arrested by the highway partol and let them go to court. the law enforcement officer is NOT above the law.

Just another "hit piece" by this particular writer. Mr. Kearns has made it very clear time and time again that he has a personal beef with the local police. It makes sense. Get in trouble with the law, and complain about it. The law doesn't see things your way, complain about it. This is the same old dead horse being dragged out of the closet to be beaten yet again. The Benicia Police think and act like they are above the law. They violate the citizens rights on a daily basis, and the command structure constantly covers it up. They are experts and saving face, and that I will give them credit for.

The Benicia Police Department is a corrupt, nepotistic, and evil system that needs to be brought down.

The Chief of Police, along with all of her solders, are under-trained, inexperienced, and arrogant. Just read the 2008-2009 Grand Jury report on the BPD. They ordered the Chief to appear before them after their review on the Department because they were offended and pissed at the behavior of the department.

I've never been pulled over by BPD myself, but have heard many anecdotes about friends and colleagues that have. The most recent case, about 6 months ago, a family friend was in town from Reno, and had dinner at Captain Blythers. BPD followed him out of Blythers, but didn't pull him over until he got to Military and 2nd. Fortunately he hadn't had any drinks, and was let go, but not before 20 minutes of condescending behavior by the officer. BTW, this gentleman is a wealthy casino owner and impossible to be mistaken for someone looking to cause trouble. I used to dine on First Street probably 3 to 5 times per month, but now I won't go anywhere near Benicia if I'm planning on having a so much as a drink.

I keep a box of donuts on the front-seat of my car. When the Gestapo interdicts me FOR DOING NOTHING WRONG I give them a couple of glazed and they let me be on my way.

Yeah, I suppose you now go to Vallejo. You don't have to worry about the cops there, but you better worry about the people around you there.

You just know the rights so well and must have been a cop for a long time... Oh yeah BPD is so corrupt, there's so much crime going on in Benicia they just have so many chances to be corrupt and violate the rights of people on a daily basis...

I am a cop from another city and have seen and heard how BPD operates. They are known throughout the Bay Area as being out of control.

Hey!!! Where do you get off talking about our quaint little police department? I run a tight ship around here - Gomer and Barney are some of the best cops in the region - bar none. Our cops are willing to take half their checks in snuff - can't say that for the Vallejo cops.

Your clearly a cop,you know my Mothers first name and age,she just had a b-day so you have access to info. If Joe's Mom was in jail it would be easy to confirm,all have to do is call the jail,if your so sure of this why don't you supply the jail she is in?
