No, you don't need an attorney for a loan mod. Just go to your lender. More often or not, they'd rather help you than let you foreclose. Use an attorney if they 1099 you after (and if) they decrease the amount you owe on the loan (rather than just lowering your interest rate) and 1099 and tax you.

The comment should have read, "I bet you spent some of that money on me at one time." If I knew when and what I would pay that back because obviously you don't have to. I am ashamed at a betrayed friendship.

with the $10,000 she paid back last Friday, and the amount of money she must have paid that attorney, you would think she could have just paid back all of the money she stole from those girls in that league so they could actually use that money for things like uniforms, equipment, etc. I also found her attorney's comment interesting..."she has other things to worry about"...really? like what else does she have to worry about? maybe where she is hiding all of the money she stole???? Give me a break! I think she got off easy!
