Who is "Colton Bowling Center"? You obviously need a life. May I suggest you spend it trying to get some of your issues resolved at the city council meetings with your new City Manager? You'll need a lifetime because you won't get anything accomplished with your new CM. Although, what you may get is a police department whose budget will be cut in half, thereby cutting service and the police force in half; and a dog shelter that will be 10million dollars OVER budget, on a 2million dollar project. Good luck folks, we're just glad you people in Colton took this J A off our hands. Can you make a deal to take our CM with him?
Thankful he is gone

I would like to respond about the new city manager, I would like to know how the city can hire a new manager when we are five million in debt also I would like to reply to a Angel Gordon, I would like to know if you are a family member to Bob Miller or just a cop. I would like to say when Mayor Frank was in office for this city, we had No lay-offs and we were not 5 million in debt. How many employees does it take to lay-off before the city stops spending?I would also like to thank the city for naming the teen center in the name of Mr. Art Thompson, I was a friend of mr. Thompson, He was a great man and a true icon to this city,I am sorry to his family over the great loss they will have over his passing

Hang on to your hat, he did his best to decimate the police departments in both the city of Hesperia when he was there and most recently in the city of Upland, whose employees are glad he is gone. They went from a patrol force of about 60 to 41, all the while claiming fiscal emergencies and sitting on a 25million dollar reserve. He's a wolf in sheep's clothing and you folks in Colton are in for quite a ride. Good luck. His mentor in Upland is still trying to get the PD done to the 30's. You can imagine the crime problems that will create.

Did not know anything about Bob Miller until today, but am passing the word like fire, sure wish I knew about him a month ago, maybe our city would not have had to endure the pain or loss of our employees maybe they would have had a happy holliday

Don't know what word you are passing about Bob Miller but he is a man of integrity who has had to do the thankless job of dealing with a $5 million revenue shortfall. Before you continue spreading misinformation attacking him (or praising others who almost drove the city into bankruptcy in the 90s) you should do your homework.

Months ago he was warning the employees that we had potential budget issues and that we would be coming to the employees for assistance in dealing with the problem. From the first discussion, he said if the employees didn't work to help bridge the financial gap, layoffs would occur. So nobody should be surprised that cuts occurred. Now everyone is quick to throw chief under the bus. Well I won't stand by silently and let that happen. And, oh by the way, I too am out of a job come December 1st.

Hope he doesn't stick Colton with a 13 million dollar boondoggle of a dog shelter like he did in Upland. Upland will now be stuck paying a million a year in this financial climate in order to take care of this morons "pet" project. You know how many cops and firemen can be hired for a million a year.

When you work through a crisis with someone, you become friends. I have seen firsthand how this crisis has affected Bob Miller. Colton is fortunate to have a man of his integrity (as opposed to the people who are YOUR friends). Just take a look at your earlier post about a former mayor not running deficits. You must not know the actual history of Colton in the early 90s when over 100 employees were laid off. Your attacks against Bob Miller and your claims about the former mayor are what's laughable.

Here's a short history lesson:
"Mayor Frank Gonzalez, who was unseated by Fulp, also weathered attacks on his leadership ability and later admitted being ignorant of memos warning of Colton's deficits and possible bankruptcy as early as 1991."

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Cancer

Hold it! You need to approach things in a calm, controlled manner today otherwise you're likely to get yourself into a state in no time at all. That's especially likely if you're trying to meet a deadline because you'll start to panic and then become all fingers and thumbs. You might also get extremely ratty with anyone who gets in your way or asks stupid questions. Come on, is that fair?
