these people have been on the board for awhile now. This district has been in trouble since I can remember. They need fresh new faces so they can have new ideas.I hope to see change.

They need to change all board members and administrators at schools. I teach in this district and compared to others in the southland, it is the biggest quagmire i have ever seen as a teacher. They blame student performance on the teachers instead of on the administrators that show up year after year. It will never happen. Education is doomed. Homeschool your kids. At least they'll be in a safe environment.

Come on lets get real
Rudy is the one that should be FIRED!
Have any of you ever heard him at a board meeting, he makes he himself look like a fool. He doesn't understand the issues, asks redundent questions and sadly shows his lake of intelligence. Its really embarrassing for a board member to be that ignorant. Let's keep it real, Rudy was a Janitor before a board member.
All of the other current board members and the other candidates are intelligent and accomplished, they certainly did not pick up the trash at school sites.
Also, how about Rudy's lack of moral values...
he abandoned his ex-wife and children to have an affair with a school employee, got busted on campus doing the dirty, then as punk, leaves his family to move-in to the home of the other woman.
Did he ever buy his new wife a home or is he living in the home SHE paid for... for once the SGV got it, get rid of the BUM!!

I totally agree with Moreno Valley & David! Well Said!
The other candidates have done what they can to show what little they have done for the community. It's time to make a change. We can't do any worse.
As for the report that they were no layoffs, I think that's incorrect info. And the 23 teachers that were hired-could that be because we had teachers leave or retire? Why didn't we spend the money to support our teachers/students instead of building locker rooms and showers for the HLP police dept.? Why was La Puente High denied the opportunity to sponsor a Swap meet to raise funds for their school site? It was never put on the agenda. These are some of the issues that should be of concern. Not the ugly things that were written. What’s wrong with picking up trash and being a Janitor? Someone has to do it! And I am proud of those that do and I thank them!

I need more information on Gonzales. What part of the HLPUSD has he represented. Not a big fan of Gonzales, I know nothing about him nor do I care. it seems to me that he may be interested to further build his business and get his face known in the poitical arena. I don't believe he cares about the HLPUD students. He
will not get my vote. He's last in the past for a reason.

Patty-Alot of people have said the same thing you did about Gonzales and Perez and even Chang. I have noticed that some of the candidates have their signs placed on school campus(which I heard is a NO NO)!Whats even worse is some residents are saying that signs are being placed on their sidewalks when they were not even asked persmission. That is telling me that they don't play by the rules and play dirty just to get what they want. And it is also telling me that no one is really willing to endorse them. I see Itow and Chavirra signs on residential property on the front lawn not sidewalks, where real people are willing to show their support for the two candidates. My vote will likely be Itow and Chavirra, I have been hearing good things about them and quite frankily I don't like what I'm hearing or seeing from the other candidates.
Have they ever heard of the word INTEGRITY?

I agree 100%. These people have done a very poor job. Anita Perez is very
disconnected from the students' educational and safety needs. She only
surfaces with good words (hypocritical) when it comes to serve her own
interests, like getting voted for. She should retire and let someone take
the seat who REALLY cares for the education of the students here in La Puente.

I agree. His focus was not to improve the education for the students in the
District.

Your comments make me sick. If you are so intelligent, why did you use
"lake," instead of "lack of intelligence." You may claim to have an
education like the rest of these hypocrites sitting on those seats
serving their own SELF INTERESTS. Sometimes it takes the humble to
GET THE JOB DONE. So what if he was a janitor, GET OVER IT and respect
people's jobs. Have the intelligence to concentrate ON THE REAL
ISSUES that affect students and teachers. WE NEED NEW FACES. The familiar
ones apparently are not getting the job done.

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Aries

There's a lot of tension in the air, with certain people poised to spit the dummy, as Mars turns retrograde in your fifth house of romance, children and speculation. Confrontations are likely. If these are nothing to do with you and you just happen to be directly in the firing line, your best bet is to make yourself scarce. But if you are responsible for their outraged feelings then you need to face the music, otherwise things will only get worse.
