La Porte Community Church

As a young child... I was attending services there with my grandparents.

I remember very clearly... the preacher was talking about how Jesus was nailed to the cross.

He was describing how his arms were held down... and nails were driven through his wrists... I was adrift in the imagery... and felt as if I were being held down... and a spike was driven through me wrists.

At that very instance... I slammed my arm down on a pencil that was sticking up out of the holder in the back of the pew in front of me.

It went all the way through the center of my wrist.

I bet there are still people who attend the church who remember that.

I did not do it on purpose... it was an accident... or destiny.
