Unthinkable journey: Relatives face accused slayer in court

I've had attorney's from out of Plumas County and when they are finished with a Case in the Plumas County Court's many of them agree that when you come to Quincy be prepared to step-back in time....I wouldn't trust Jeff Cunan to pull weeds!

All of this time the press has dedicated to this case, yet we still do not know what the alleged killer or his famil's immigration status is. Or where there illicit drugs involved? Is this sensationalism on PC?

Answer Denise. The legal system makes the laws to benefit themselves so as to make maximum financial return on their allocated monies.
Once this kid gets into prison, if he can't beat the rap, then again, the most expensive wasteful process will begin. His incarceration whether he be given a death sentence or not, will cost millions.
Remember tat terrorists Bill Ayers and his wife Bernadine Dorhn committed unthinkable acts against our country, including causing death to a police officer. Today, the Communist left celebrates them, they teach in a prestigious university and they WRITE LAWS for us to obey. Her husband encouraged kids in the 1960s to "kill you capitalist parents" Today, Bernadine writes children's law. How is this possible? The system is serving their interests, not ours.
These judges, these attorneys are socialists. They are the cause for our huge crime problems. They are the reason your son and other's chidden are murdered, or destroyed from illegal drugs, are competing for low wage jobs at a deficit because the schools lame Spanish classes are poor, while teaching Latino's to learn English is their main concern. They get more money for it.
You trust the very system that creates this atmosphere to punish this kid? Maybe because this case is getting so much attention there will be justice, but in most cases, justice, real justice, is not served, for the interests of the public anyway. You are getting special treatment, while most others do not get justice, but instead, their situation exploited.

I personally don't give a rat's ass what nationality he or his parents are, dead is still dead. White, black, chinese, humong or spanish a murderer is still a murderer regardles of race or gender.

My comment is about the failure of the judicial system because of its self-serving nature. It is some of the reason these kids were murdered. I am sorry that I could not more eloquently explain my opinion, I try.
Yes here are two young beautiful kids gone, taken away at a far too young of an age. There are too many people dying in this country. There are too many burned-out American born English-speaking citizens begging for money in the streets. What are the main causes? That is what I am taking about.

This summer a 12-year-old disabled young man went before the State Legislature to plead for a law that would require drug testing for pregnant mothers on welfare. His disabilities are from his crack-addicted mother who regardless of her pregnancy kept doing her dope. The State Legislature turned him down.
Yet they delegate powers to steal children from families without the benefit of a trial. How does that fall in line with the US Constitution? The laws are written for the benefit of their own lobbies. Unions, lawyers and non-profits, who shell out the monies to the politicians. It is a fraud, not a justice system. Now as our world becomes more and more unsafe, people expect the law to fix it, so the law lobbies for more monies. Someone, somehow, has to stop this cycle of violence perpetrated by the very entities we expect to prevent it.

Go after the root cause people, law enforcement, judges, probation, social services, lawyers, non-profits, drug agents, and on and on. This empire of bureaucracy is dependent of the crime, the illegal drug trade, and the illegal invasion of peoples, all to the government’s agenda of socialism.
Don't believe they are that far to the left? There are over 200,000 attorneys in California. That is allot of legal power and allot of wallets to fill. Who are the lobbyists for the state legislature? Attorneys! Who are they going to advocate for? Themselves! Heck, just thumb through the Chico phone book and gaze at all the one and two page ads. America is being legislated away. Out safety is in their hands and pockets. Their greed is our demise!

My heart is filled with sorrow for the families. They will
be in my prayers.
I pray the sentence will be life without parole.

Being a former Plumas county resident, going back in time may not be a bad thing. Especially if it means REAL justice will be served and that is a speedy and fair trial and then IMMEDIATE death by whatever means is the worst. I don't think that he was merciful in killing these two brilliant kids. Eye for and eye justice is NEEDED. I hope that is served. May God give these parents of all peace in their lives.

I had to face the killers of my 12 year old grandson Chris Cejas twice due to one mistrial. To be forced to be in the presence of such evil is a terrible thing. To write an impact statement you can't even finish because you shake so much you can't read the words is an experience I hope I will never have to go through again. What can you say that will help? What can a monster says to you that you even want to hear? Acceptance? It never truly happens. There is always a part of you that waits for your loved one to come through the door.God Bless you all.

Of course what set this kid off is that he lost his sweetie very suddenly. It sound like she dumped him for the kid from Willows. Anyone would be very hurt, and most have. But the Mexican culture is violent, yes more so than America. Check out their videos sometime. Their culture is reflected in the gang wars. In Orland, where the lame Police Chief still doesn't seem to have a clue about the recent gang murder, there is no resolve. The gang of kids that killed, had walked to the site of the crime, and then simply walked away after. You can be sure the families and the Hispanic community know who were involved, but they don't rat their own. It is called La Raze pride. This culture of crime and violence perpetrated my these immigrants seem to now be excepted. People are called racists if they are vocal, but the Hispanic community themselves boast of their own racism. Consider all the organizations that are solely for Hispanics. In the schools, they call themselves Mecha. They advocate and teach the concept of the reconquista of Aztlan. The goal is t take back the land that was lost in 1848 after the war. They are serious. I heard that gangs artillery and weapons outnumber law enforcement’s hardware 100 to 1. If it comes down to a revolution, do you think the police are going to have a chance? They will gather their families and run for their lives. Wake up!
Please Hispanics and other peoples to the concept of America. Help us save this country, not destroy her. Not assist liberty's fall to Marxism. You participate in work, in the military and all other aspects. Be part of this country or if not, it is all of us that will loose to Socialist fascism. No, she did not dump him to "for the kid from Willows" You just read the story-use his name. His name was Steven. He is someone's son, brother, uncle, grandson and friend. They had been broken up for awhile.
People break up all the time and not all of them murder someone because of that. Jenny was not his property. He made a decision that night and now, he will be punished and have to live with it for the rest of his life.
And don't make this about race. It's not. It is something that could happen to anyone-this time it happened to Jenny and Steven.

I don't know about going back in time. Some Plumas County attorneys are quite good. Unfortunately, Jeff Cunan is the worst of the worst. This will be his first murder trial. He got elected becuase the last DA was a drunk. JC couldn't get a conviction to save his life. He doesn't know law and he's the worst public speaker I've ever heard. I hope for the sake of those families someone else tries the case. I hear the deputy DA's at least have some experience. I think one of them comes from Alameda county and did lots of murder trials there.

I think you are a little confused about the court system. Defense attorneys make money from trials but not prosecutors or judges. They get paid whether they work or not. The lazy ones take advantage of that- Jeff Cunan is evidence of this practice as he has demonstrated time and again. He will try Carillo because he needs to look like he's not just taking up good air and public money.

Listen all of you... for those who want to know about his past, yes he did have anger problmes... most people do. "hey jose" IS right.. and yeah they WERE broken up for a while.. but breaking up doesnt mean that stuff isnt going on between them. i've grown up with the Carrigan family and i know Ryes. Reyes loved Jenny with EVERYTHING he had. and thats what broke him. now dont get me wrong.. i am VERY hurt and shocked at this. and i cant imagine the pain that the Furtado Family is going through..and i am SOO cery proud of Jodie for holding her head up.

But u all have to understand... the news media doesnt know every single inch in detail.. they couldnt.. even if they tried. so dont take the story as it is.

Nobody loves someone so mucb that they need to slash them. There are many sides to this story as in every crime. The difference is we don't know the killer in Oakland. We know the kid in a small town, but the same rules apply. Nobody can do what REyes did unless he was a psycho. Some psychos just hide it better than others.

What was the result of this trial? Was Reyes found guilty? Why have we not heard anything about it?
