Benton Principal falsifying records

I heard that the principal at Benton Middle school was changing the attendance records for 8th grade students that otherwise would not be able to attend the graduation ceremonies because of excessive truancy.

If the students were one of her, not afraid to show it, favorites. Greene is a shady woman! I DO NOT trust her in the slightest!

Maybe someone needs to report her. I don't understand why she would do that.

The problem is proving it. Attendance is easily changed...a simple click of a button changes them from absent to present! She would do it because she has favorites and would do anything to make those favorites look better than the rest.

Get a life! It is middle school people and you are showing your kids that how to play the "victim" card. Worry about things that really matter and teach them the same.

District has created a new administrative position - Director of Intervention and Mental Health - it is one way to move an employee who missed the lay - off notice deadline.

i agree that if this is TRUE she should be reported. the first person to teach or kids right from wrong is the parent, then the school. i dont think by reporting this (if you know for sure its true)it teaches your kid to be a victim, it teaches them right from wrong. my child is not in middle school yet, but will be going to benton in the futer, but not if this kind of stuff is happening. just an opinion.

many of you need to go back to middle school to remember how to spell: "not shocked" . Heaven help us that she wants to have the students attend the ceremony! Is this really all you have to complain about in life.

Falsifying records is wrong. If they wanted to participate in the ceremony they shouldn't have missed so much school. Very simple!

"you heard" or you have proof??? Listening to stories your kids are assuming happened and coming home to tell you?? Get some solid proof before you start making accusations...

The federal govt USA took control of the entire nlmusd.... last year ... too many children were being left behind.

They have posted the newly created district position will be filled by the NHS principal.

No admin....dares to cheat the feds.

"The federal govt USA" The FEDERAL government of the USA or any other country for that matter did not take over NLMUSD. They were put in program improvement, which half of ALL schools receiving Title 1 money are now in. This is a result of "No Child Left Behind" and it's unattainable goals. The goals they set have never been met by any country in the history of the world!

That's the entire problem. So many of you never learned that the end doesn't always justify the means. Unless there was some verifiable reason for excessive absences, then this is absolutely something that needs to be dealt with. Changing attendance records just so a kid can attend a ceremony that they failed to earn is just wrong. Period. Let them learn now...because later the consequences for poor performance are much, much greater.

And if she didn't do that, hopefully this will all blow over.

The Norwalk schools have been the demise of La Mirada students for years. It's a shame that our kids have to pay for the fact that either the parents and/or students could care less about school and the ramifications of not getting good grades. Instead, using it as a place to hang out or babysat.

By the way I know that some kids/parents in LM that do the same as there are also excellent students in Norwalk. But as a whole NO, the test scores and dropout rates speak for themselves.

And are you part of the benton staff/vulunteers??? Are you a parent whos child goes to benton? If your not, you have no room to talk unless your child did go to benton and was one that didnt walk then you can cry all you want

Why is a person who goes by the name "Guy" on here making false accusations about people he does not know? What is 'Guy's" agenda?
