"She liked to to art a lot"-HUH? The state needs to test older folks every year or pull their license. Their reflexes aren't what they used to be.

You may have I point, but given what we've been told about the circumstances of this collision; (35 mph in an intersection not controlled by lights or a cross walk) I'm inclined to think it was the pedestrian who's reflexes were faulty.

Maybe it was another case of a Toyota that wouldn't stop due to defects in the design.

Bullsh-- God--. Cars. Killing this girl. Screw your cars. This old bat evidently doesn't know how to drive a car anymore. What the f-- is wrong with the tight ass City and county by letting intersections have no stop-lights or even marked crosswalks ? They should be sued. Where are the programs in schools teaching kids how to be a proper pedestrian.? Everyone is at fault.Including this stupid old bat.Old drivers are old farts who shouldn't be driving.I had to pull a 15 year old girl out of the path from some old fart who ran a red light. I cussed that son of a b-- out too. Everyone is at fault. R.I.P. Angel

Well, "she was intelligent" at El Camino High, is that where all the gifted kids go to school? No it is a continuation school for kids who fail too many classes in the real high school. Intelligent people don't jay walk at night and expect the cars to see them. Darwin strikes again.Sweet and friendly she may have been, but there is no evidence of intelligent.

The person who walked her lazy butt in front of a car is at fault. She could have walked to an intersection, but then that would have been too far. Maybe next time.

Some of you people make me sick. Have respect. I've known this girl for 5 years. I saw her 2 days before this happened. If this were to happen to somebody you know, you wouldn't be making all these smart ass remarks. We will miss you Frenchy.
Memories of 7th grade I will never forget. R.I.P.

Wipe the spittle off your screen and take a long walk. Feel better, yet? Repeat as needed.

James, you sound so ineffably intelligent; your comment is probably the most useful comment on the entire site. Yeah right! Don't you know that you're not getting any younger? It is unbelievable how many people make fun of seniors! Hello! You'll be an "old fart" one day soon.

Also, if you knew any details about the area and the circumstances surrounding the girl, you would conclude that it was nothing but the poor girl's fault. I do agree that proper pedestrian crossing is completely necessary, but no one forced her to walk out into on-coming traffic. Also, it was night when this happened and she was in dark clothing, she obviously and unfortunately was not paying attention.

you know i just want to say that as a driver, just in the last year or so i have seen and been involved in some scary close calls with pedestrians and must mention that about 95% were teenagers.some of them blatently ignored a red light, tried to cross (i guess they feel as if they are too cute to get hit by a car),ignored the oncoming car with horn blasting, and then when they realize this driver accelerated to cut them off and put them in their place.then they stopped.inches from car.they then flipped off driver and continued walking.i dont know the circumstances in this tragedy but i just wanted to note the attitude of some youngsters as pedestrians. imagine when these types become drivers.

"Relax" you say?! Have you any sense of decency? A young girl died. She was someone's daughter. Just thank God she wasn't yours.

I've also had some close calls with the 'generation of entitlement', where the kids just walk out in front of the car and believe that it can stop on a dime. Kids today have no respect for anyone or anything, let alone themselves.

I've lived in LM for over 20yrs. and nobody goes 35mph on Imperial Hwy...the speed limit is 45...so people go 45-50mph...Go check it out for yourself and at 6:55pm...Drivers just go too Fast.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Aries

Someone wants to go their own way today and they won't care whose feathers they ruffle in the process. It's a lunar eclipse at the Full Moon in Cancer, so let them get on with it. The last thing you should do now is to hang on to their coat-tails or do anything else that will make them feel restricted. Make it plain that you've got your own fish to fry, thank you very much. And try not to let it stop you enjoying yourself. Have a great night!
