A big improvement over Vallarta and Top Valu. Hopefully the Fresh and Easy has less flies and roaches than those 2 establishments.

This is great news!!!!!!!!
I live in Baldwin Park but I shop in West Covina & Covina. It's just a lot cleaner then going shopping at Vallarta or Value Plus. You don't have drug addicts asking you for money.

I don't understand, you rather BP not redevelop and add new stores?
I remember 10 years ago BP was a great community, then it suddenly became abandoned, businesses and people moving out. Fear of violence and gangs seems to be growing. Wouldn't you want BP to redevelop and provide jobs so that people don't turn to gangs. Also so that people didn't have to drive far to shop?

DOUCHE is actually spelled as such and if you don't know, now you know. Also, the run on sentences just about drove me batty, have you ever heard of a comma? LOL @ the Wal-Mart comment! I come from a Unionized family, so shopping there would be a disgrace. If you've ever paid attention to my posts here......I normally shop outside of B.P. because I don't like the supermarkets, restaurants etc. In fact, I thought this whole thread was about Fresh and Easy, unlike your stinky douche comment, which really has no relevance. As for Chinese operating business in B.P., do you think I would mind? What we're trying to do here is bring in business, that will generate employment and revenue. Employment and Revenue, the pawn shops, dress shops and a lot of the little "mama and papa" shops, simply can't provide. From what I understand, many of them have trouble paying their rent now. In retrospect, the redevelopment project is actually doing them a favor. As for Pavilions and Albertsons........Albertsons had trouble keeping afloat after the long strike. As for Pavillions, apparently Baldwin Park was not ready but I was, I used to shop there. Again, I am tired of my city not having any other choices, other than "Vallarta and Food4Less" What is wrong with a variety? If people in the community make a choice to continue to shop where they currently shop, then let them. Why should I be forced to leave my city to dine and shop? Good Lord, I live a healthy lifestyle, the above mentioned markets just don't provide what my diet consists of. And for the record douche bag........women are not supposed to douche, do your homework. As for now, I am off to hit up Arcadia's geriatric neighborhoods. I have a lot of questions to ask.

pay to play is whats going down in are town
I agree it would be great to have a new center in town but at whos expence. The community will decide in the end who they will support. Look around the businesses thiving are the ones who have patrons.Value Plus ,Vararta, king taco, Urapan, La Blanquita, Carniceria Ramirez, San Gabriel meat market, Elwin market ect. ect. ect. Oh and the biggest killer of jobs Walmart. Unless of coarse minimum wage and no health care is in your future this would be a great job
At any time these businesses are full. Why because they cater to the community

What we're trying to do here is bring in business, that will generate employment and revenue. It is obvious that you have heard of a comma, but have incorrectly applied it to the above sentence. There is no need for a comma before the word "that", it simply replaces the need to use a comma. Please refer to your college style and grammar handbook before you publicly try to humiliate/correct people for their grammatical errors. Not everyone has a community college education like you do. fresh and easy isnt going to help as long as you folks have a gang problem...bp is still dangerous and is not a safe place for children. It'll be great for the residents but I doubt you'll attract anyone from surrounding area to come and spend their money in b.p.

Love your comment! I also live in BP also and trust me I do not shop in any of the stores here either. I go to trader Joe's in San Dimas or Whole Foods in Pasadena. There is no way that the stores here in BP could provide the type of healthy and organic food that I purchase elsewhere. I'm glad for the new redevelopment and for a new Fresh and Easy store!!! Hopefully we get a trader joe's in the redevelopment!:) or That Girl wrote: Yo you above me.......you really don't know what the hell you are talking about. boycot freah and easy,. its a disgusting move for our economy. non- union ,poverty wages, no health benefits & a over seas company! DO NOT SHOP FRESH & EASY! this company will ruin your city's economy. the stores might be cute but the aftermath will be disturbing

if you think its going to "beautify" your hurting neighborhood.. they also have stores in compton. i dont think the gangs are going to leave because a cute trendy store has opened up on a corner. thats stupid! all its going to do is close after a year because the poor & drug infested people of that city will steal from it. personally fresh & easy will not last in bp. and hopefully anywhere else, is a european owned business,. we need to shop american,.

Hey mom?
What about the obesity problem we have in our community? The uneducated parents, gang members and druggies still need an "option" if they want to buy from a store other than Vallarta or Value Mart.
Again, no one thinks the residents of B.P. are deserving or worthy because it's infested with uneducated immigrants and gang members.
BTW WalMart is non union too.....but that place is always packed to the gills.

What's next??????? Victoria Secret's on Main St.
Size 14 and up only! I just had to have a beer and wash the image of a size 14 thong out of my mind.
Fresh & Easy is one of the larger (maybe largest) grocery companies in the UK. They have been expanding in the US in a rapid fashion but have hit a speed bump with the economy as it is. They have slowed the expanison as of now.
I'll bet my one room adobe casa that BP will never see a F&E.

I think the Baldwin Park cholos will appreciate the excellent selection of pinot noirs and shirazes, the European cheeses, the organic arugala and radicchio salads, and the artichoke dip. It`s an excellent marketing plan.
