common sense wrote: A soccer only area would be great but not needed -dropped my kid off last week and there was plenty of space to practice- there are so many other issues that are SO much more important, like a quality coaching program that gets coaches to what learn MUCH MORE IMPORTANT, a better mentoring program for the ref's, need more people for this, portable light's and how to use them, can we really use them, and getting more people involved not enough BOD. When does soccer have to move when it isn't our season when does baseball have to move when it is our season, this year hasn't been bad with sharing space so I have been told. Let's not confuse the issue just because the truck ran across the playing fields and caused some issue's - we could have moved to another local, but chose to bitch instead, our need is for light's for the few months November and February really don't need them in Dec or January because we are the only ones on the fields area and most of the kids aren't playing then. WE WILL NEVER HAVE A SOCCER ONLY PARK there is no space, not enough votes and unless Warren Buffet decided's to move here and buy land for us to play on good luck finding property anywhere around here. If the school deems it necessary to expand that is whole lot more important then a silly soccer field to PLAY soccer on, lets work on making our coaching better that is so much more important and will get what we really need done. <quoted text> So what you are saying is Soccer in La Mirada is not worth any effort to try and give the kids a nice field to play on that is sole responsibility of soccer, Right and its ok to not have lighted fields for our older kids to practice on, and no flexibility for the coaches that volunteer their time and actually have to work during the day and get off early to get to practice on time, so the kids can have atleast and hour of practice???? the areas we get at Los Coyotes is semi dark and straining the kids to see the ball. But like you said its not worth Fighting for, right...? Hope you are not part of the BOD, because that would mean we are in a heap of trouble with that type of attitude. It is a great idea and should be considered.

On another note does anyone know how all the LMSA teams did in the spring leagues. I heard one of them almost had a shutout this weekend during the playoffs, is that true?

Nobody from LMSA won Jack. Couple made it to the finals in playoffs but all lost. There was a time when La Mirada teams usually and regularly ran the board.(won almost every division). But not anymore.
Talent spread too thin. Poor coaching program.
La Mirada is no longer the city of champions, it now the city of also rans. Or 1st losers for this who took 2nd place

That was for the boy's division. At least the girl's did a little better with 2 championships.
Still not up to par with where our kids are use to or should be.

that is why we are headed to CLUB in the fall. At least on a couple of signatures teams we have seen the kids show no improvement and take a step back.

La Mirada soccer is better then ever, you are comparing apples to oranges, rec to a higher level rec, just look at how well the entire program did, several signature teams played well in the state cup tournament and league playoffs, did you know that one of our spring teams went to the semi finals in the CLUB spring cup the other played very well. Our rec side had all-star and league winners, WTF are you talking about, just another person that has blinders on, please don't waste our time with your misguided thoughts and jealousies, my kid's love it here. With the adding of signature we are playing a levels NEVER seen in La Mirada except for the Pulse. We have teams that are feeding club teams and still remaining competitive. Please read what you type and think before that we are not the old AYSO program we are better and are making better soccer players. My kid's have learned a lot and we may move on because of the program not despite it. Soccer wrote: Nobody from LMSA won Jack. Couple made it to the finals in playoffs but all lost. LMSA is not as dominant as they were in their 2 seasons. Almost every division was playing for championships including Fall regular season and All-Star teams. Now its a struggle to get 1 single champion in either level. Signature has waters down the talent pool.

This year 2 champions, 3 others in the finals and 2 signature team as runner ups. Even with signature teams, lmsa is still competing at the all star level.

It's called moving on. Players and coaches do that you know. I know Edwin, and I don't believe those are the facts. When several of your top players are leaving, you either rebuild or take your stud son to club. That's what happened. Know your facts.

It's funny people complain about the BOD, but they put in the time and the work, while most just bitch and whine. If you can do a better job STEP up! Their has been little turnover in the BoD, wait till some retire or plain walk away, the league will be in some hurt! List your name, I will even nominate you for a position. As for them in favor of signature, most of their kids are in the program or are in club. Why is that you ask? Maybe they are more passionate about soccer than most. If the BOD only cared about signature, they would have awarded GU10 Lopez a team, thus having 2 GU11 signature teams for fall 2012. They didn't, cause the rec program always comes first. My .02

Yeah step up and kiss the present BOD's a** then they'll let u run and give u a mickey mouse job. Because they won't let go of their power base. When they decide to leave then true changes for the proper development of players, coaches and refs will happen. But that will be a long tine coming because they like the carte Blanche they have with everything. People that disagree or ask for accountability get filtered out of the program. People that kiss up get treated nice. But that's the way all youth sport programs are. Just ask certain people from LMLL who had to put up with Dwight all those years. Why should LMSA be any different.

Ok what plan do you have with details to make this a better REC program, what do you think should be the BOD goals and do you think they should get there. What are the issues with the current BOD more real details? I am asking you to be accountable for your statement and be prepared to explain yourself, can you? Please no emotional statements fact please. To many people here what something that this program isn't IT IS A REC PROGRAM PEOPLE get over it if you want club go there here it is about the snack after the game.
