u live with a trashy correctional officer, there is no respectful job in corrections, all are ppl that can't get a real job anywhere else. I know I wouldn't hire any of them to mow my grass.

Just because some are bad doesn't mean that all of us are bad. I dont do drugs or drink and anyone who thinks that some are a representation of all is no better than someone who is racist meaning that you have a very skewed sense of reality. All people who wear a uniform are not the same just like all people of the same skin color are not the same and anyone with a true grasp on reality would know this. The racist thing is just an example, it could be any number of things this is just one that comes to mind first. It is sad that Police and Corrections Officers almost always get the negative attitudes directed towards them but it would be a sad world without them. Most of you making the negative comments would not be alive and if you are realistic you know this. So lighten up.

Corrections staff are the lowest there is, paul harvey said it on radio, so it is true.

I cant believe what I read,,, I am a single mother, trying my best to raise children. I am a correctional officer, I dont do drugs, never had a felony, I know it pays crappy, but for the most part I love my job. Everyday I go to work, do the best I can, treat everyone,including the inmates with respect and come home.And work EVERY weekend.
I may not have the BEST job in the world, but I DO try and Im definatly NOT lowlife, and right now the way jobs are scarce.... Im proud to even have a job and yes proud to be a correctional officer

I work at Rcc. I am an officer. I love my job and the fact of the matter is that I have spent 10 years in construction and as a mechanic. But when the jobs went south I had to look else where. So are the cops that bring us prisoners bad people? My theory is I treat every inmate as i would want to be treated. There punishment was being sent to us, so i feel no need to punish them more. Just to watch over them and do my part to help them better themselves. Yes as in every group there are bad apples but I dont find myself hatting every group because of the bad apples. So if I am the lowest of the low I am really good at it. If you hate the department of corrections then do your part to keep people out of it. But keep this in mind..... If it was not for us bottom dwellers then you may have a child molester, rapist, or murderer living next door to you.

The opinions of people who love pedophiles doesn't mean much anyway.

these guards could not get a security job, so the state hires them,lol. They don't have no respect for no one.

I hate guards, they are worse than the con's, they can't keep it in their pants.

Who cares what the guards do or anthing as lnog as they treat the inmates right. Inmates are ppl to and everyone makes mistakes so I think that everyone should be treated fairly. I don't care what type of person the guards are as long as they do there job and don't treat the inmates poorly.

For some reason, when a jailer puts on their uniform, they treat the prisoners, guilty or not, like scumbags, like Abu Graib.

I think guards are uneducated and can't get a job anywhere else, I make fun of these ppl.
