He is absolutely done. I'm glad I did not vote for him. And if M.V.P. didn't split from him and I was actually able to read a flyer without an error on it or something blackened out maybe I can understand her. But, I did understand Christopher Getty and his United Citizens party. They have my vote STRAIGHT!

Lets elect a 26 year old with no experience in municipal government to lead our community - and watch - he will be trying to find a job for his convicted felon father in the Village.

Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek. I know my town of Lyons has not perfected itself. At times, we've struggled to keep the promise of liberty and equality for all of our people. We've made our share of mistakes, and there are times when our actions around the world have not lived up to our best intentions. It took a lot of blood, sweat and tears to get to where we are today, but we have just begun. Today we begin in earnest the work of making sure that the world we leave our children is just a little bit better than the one we inhabit today. My parents shared not only an improbable love, they shared an abiding faith in the possibilities of this nation. They would give me an African name, Nala, or successful, believing that in a tolerant America your name is no barrier to success. There is not a liberal America and a conservative America - there is the United States of America. There is not a black America and a white America and latino America and asian America - there's the United States of America. This is the moment when we must come together to save Lyons. Let us resolve that we will not leave our children a town where the rivers rise and famine spreads and terrible storms devastate our lands. Today we are engaged in a deadly town struggle for those who would intimidate, torture, and murder people for exercising the most basic freedoms. If we are to win this struggle and spread those freedoms, we must keep our own moral compass pointed in a true direction. We have an obligation and a responsibility to be investing in our students and our schools. We must make sure that people who have the grades, the desire and the will, but not the money, can still get the best education possible. We need somebody who's got the heart, the empathy, to recognize what it's like to be a young teenage mom, the empathy to understand what it's like to be poor or African-American or gay or disabled or old - and that's the criterion by which I'll be selecting my officials. We need to steer clear of this poverty of ambition, where people want to drive fancy cars and wear nice clothes and live in nice apartments but don't want to work hard to accomplish these things. Everyone should try to realize their full potential. Change has come to America. Change has come to Lyons. In the end, that's what this election is about. Do we participate in a politics of cynicism or a politics of hope? As an 18 year old African-American girl who attends Morton West High-School, I am a believer of change. I speek amongst my fellow peers, white, black, blue, red, 5 years old or 50 years old. Disabled or not disabled, gay, straight, skinny, fat, short or tall- My heart, My Vote, My Future is with the United Citizens Party.

just Voted for United Citizens Party Straight! The old Getty got caught taking like 400k. That's not much considering Visk just blew 14 MILLION DOLLARS on a police Station and built a park thats worse than the one we have. I mean come on it's right next to the Quarry! I'd rather Visk steal money than be a sexest-racial official that spends Millions of dollars. He spent over 10 Million Dollars on our "Condo's and Town homes" that are left empty. Over 2 Million at Cermak Pond. Paid the owner of Snowflake 1.5 Million to sell his property which is now empty. Spent Millions building a Walgreens and the old one is across the street vacant. And in the future he wants to spend over 4 million dollars to notch the Damn to prevent flooding. WHERE AND WHY DOES THE TOWN OF LYONS NEED TO SPEND NEARLY 50 MILLION DOLLARS? WE HAVE 10,000 people and expect less than 30 police officers to have control? He wants to keep building too? Aside that, All of MVP's flyers had many typo's and words even blacked out. She has been in office long enough. Visk is Done. MVP is Done. Getty is our only hope. This is true an the residents of Lyons need to know this. It is time for change, time for a good change. I know people still feel his dad has something to do with influence on the U.C.P. party. Hey, I'm sure he learned his lesson. I don't even think he was the problem. I heard it was an old trustee who scammed more money and left Ken Getty to take the fall. The F.B.I. is still looking for the other trustee. I think he's living wealthy in Canada or Mexico now, while Ken is back to being a local citizen blending back in to Lyons. He's a good guy. If he was such a criminal why would he return? Rumors are rumors. Dont believe everything I'm saying though. They both are people and have a voice. I spoke personally to Chris and even a little with his dad when I stopped in to get insurance. Final conclusion is that after Visk loses, he is moving out of this town far away and we will never see his face again! Now who's the real criminal? Only time will tell for us here in Lyons. The only thing I remember from when the old Getty was in office, is that Lyons was once a friendly whole community where everyone was invovled and our sports teams where great. I was a kid back then playing in Lyons Little League and our team made it all the way to the state finals. I feel it was the simple fact that we had thousands of residents who suported us and our baseball team. We couldn't let the village down as 10 year old kids. Now, as a young man. I dream that my son who is 6 will be on an award winning team like I was, with a friendly community behind him.

How many years did you serve on Village committees? What have you done to improve things? There is a big difference between STEALING 400K and trying to improve our Village. Obviously, for you, breaking the law is OK -

What "other trustee" - Getty the Felon was convicted on 17 of 17 counts! But, of course, unlike every other criminal in prison, he's REALLY innocent.

After seeing all the bad financial decisions made by the elected officials I’m voting in favor of the UCP. The video where the elected officials are using degrading terms about women and Afro American people really shows their true arrogant views on others. I wonder what they think about us being of Hispanic descent? What if that was my wife or daughter sitting innocently by the curb that Visk was gawking at? All I know is that my household has FIVE votes that on Tuesday will voluntarily go to Mr. Getty and his party. Ever since I moved into Lyons he has been constantly active with voter registration. He surprised me at a recent election where he approached me to say “hello”and actually remembered my name. When your own police department does not back you up on your election campaign, it really shows there is something wrong with the management of the village. I urge all Lyons residents to support the United Citizens Party on Tuesday to bring change to our community

"He wants to spend 4 million dollars to notch the dam" - where do you get this BS? The Village of Lyons has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with the Hoffman dam - it is under the control of the Army Corps of Engineers and other! Please cite you factual sources for the crap you are posting.

Please tell me more about the $10 million Visk spent for the condos, and the $2 million for the Cermak Pond. Where did this money come from? How was it spent? Please provide some facts to back up these claims so I know the truth.

Aha ...things are starting to hit in the right spot now, my friend. Now you want answers, answers that you should have looked up way before. But you don't ask about the mentality and arrogance that I bring up about the video tape. Well I guess it's because we have our crystal clear answer on that one.

If you really think you will figure out who you want to vote for on here your an idiot. David Visk racist? No...Bigot maybe. Big difference between attending a Klan meeting and using the stereo type watermelon. Just ask Obama about using stereo types...especially you Nala who pretty much plagurized an Obama speech. Obama must hate litte mentally disabled kids because of his remark on Leno. So David Visk is no more guilty than Obama. Talking about change. I'm Sure you saw the Chris Getty flyer that went out today. You think him being arrested for resisting arrest and battery is not true...well that picture is from his mugshot. Go down to village hall and request a foia form, ask for his arrest record http://www.villageoflyons-il.net/DocumentsAnd... . He was 21 years old when it happened. His Father I don't even have to talk about we all know that story, and how he would want to be the next village manager. Now, very interesting about Patti Krueger. She is a tough one, no one can prove anything bad about her right? I beg to differ. No one is perfect, not in Lyons and not in election season. To tell you the Truth I think that she is the worst of all. Let me tell you about Patti Krueger. Do you know that Patti Krueger has full backing of the Police Department? Why? TLC just gave them a new police station, yes there was a village hall attached to it. So why are the police so much behind her, TlC gave then another officer....because they really needed it? The Lyons Police Department is comprised of the Chief of Police,$100k+ two (2) Commanders, 100k+, Five (5) Sergeants,80k eighteen (18) Patrol Officers, Minimum 53K, 6 patrol officers made over 100K with OT, one (1) Records Clerk $$$, one (1) Communications Supervisor,$$$$ four (4) Communications Operators,$$$$$$ Why are they so unhappy? Because they did not get a basement? Please did they not get a nice police station, look at all the surrounding communities stations. I am sure they would like the place. They were made they did not get a shooting range? Why could they be so unhappy, well maybe the contract has not been settled. Will Krueger go ahead and give them a big raise? Is it because her son is a police officer so her heart bleeds for them? I wish the police would stay out of politics and do their jobs, that they get paid for. Well mrs. Krueger, I think they make enough, times are tough, the police station needs to tighten it's belt, and stop buying favors from you. Police contract was up in I think December, and has not been settled. The current board is not happy with it obviously. I think that is called patronage.
