Councilman Gary DeLong plans to vote via teleconference to avoid po...

Full story: Long Beach Press-Telegram

Some people just can't leave their work at the office when they go on vacation. That seems to be especially true for a politician when a political ally needs support, even if there is only a single vote on the meeting agenda.

So DeLong wants someone as the vice mayor who openly cheated on her husband numerous times and I'm told is very bossy with people. Not a very good role model, especially for young people. Isn't she the one who forced that guy Ellis on us for the School Board when she jumped out of the race at the last second to run for city council? He turned out a big loser as everyone found out. I believe Dee Andrews supports her, who I think was convicted of drug abuse or selling drugs and served jail time, and Robert Garcia, who switched from Republican to Democrat because he knew he couldn't win in downtown as a Republican. That leaves the new guy, no-balls Johnson who I hear is owned by the mayor so he goes with Lowenthal as well. What a group of leaders and role models. Pretty sad bunch of people who represent us. Did not realize DeLong is tied in to such losers. O'Donnell I know is a teacher, family man with one or two kids, a church goer and all around good guy. Who cares about voting records since this is the vice mayor's position. Another sad day in the big city. What happened to one's character meaning something?

Until he joined with De Long in throwing the water
skiers under the bus(or boat as some would say)in the
near year three triune assualt on the Long Beach Marine Stadium effectively ending: LBJC by 2015'LBRA
except for circa 15-20 people piddling around the
bay 2018(the stalwart CSULB will always be here.

Unlike LBJC and LBRA who need 5 or 6 lanes for regattas CSULB needs only two or three lane---O'Donnell might have been a good choice. No
Longer!!!

Like De Long he does not do his home work.

De Long's cyber footise partner-Lowenthall would
be a poor choice on its very face.

Though Schipske's uncharacteristic lack of homework
visa a via her vote to bring and end the referenced
rowing programs---given the alternatives she would
be the best choice.

Very well said - couldn't agree more! The crooked and corrupt DeLong will cast his vote for the crooked and morally bankrupt Suja Lowenthal.

Anyone other then me ever wonder way Lowenthal would support

deLong's Tom Dean wetlands swap and spending $9.5 on the Naples sea walls? I think we have our answer. Its called Quid Pro Quo. Suja could care less about the 2nd District or the City. She only cares about her next potential political position.

Along with the re call of De Long in 2012;as with O'Donnell.Lowenthall will not be
re-elected with a high probability of Garica facing the same fate. The day's of elected
not doing their homework is over-regardless of what side of the asile they are on.

An obvious ploy by the Suja to further her political ambitions. The LAST thing we need is another "Lowenthal" heading to Sacramento. And DeLong just sees this as buying a favor from the Suja and cementing his voting bloc. I feel very sad for my hometown seeing very few councilmembers really doing their jobs out of love for the city rather than love of themselves.

Obviously, like most of the Council Spike--void of any accomplishments in this City
does not read the public record or has any idea what he is talking about. My positions
are supported by a wide spectrum of those, who unlike Spike, are sold citizens.
Indeed, the Council and City Attorneys conduct last week when they approved the first
reading of item 27---is best summed by the description given,by a former, high ranking-
very high ranking--and respected City official who described the underlying actions and
product produced--as HORSE MANURE!!!!
Particularly revealing was the list of no less than 16 certified experts who are opposed
to the dangerous idea advocated by the uncertified, unschooled, untrain ed,untrustworthy
1050 mind that has now brought the national and international spotlight on,among a
number issues=the need for the City Attorney to be granted a Medical Leave.
The only people from the public supporting the 1050's position were three people--
non of which have a understanding of the issues at play-do to their lack of experience-
although one privately calls the 1050 minded Bureau Manager a liar.
Not withstanding the diseased views of Spike and others of the same like==there is
no comprise when it comes to public safety-as was certified by the opposition by the
City's Risk Assessment Office.Indeed,City Council members, private personal attorneys
should be having some strong conversations relative to the immense exposure they now
face personally=a conversation their insurance companies will be echoing.Alas, when
they are stripped of all assets they can bunk with Spike in an Maytag Freezer box
under the Shemaker or 6th Steet Bridge along the Los Angeles River.

Spike, your comment is a very good example of why this city is in deep doo doo. Your eyes are shut and your ears are full of cotton balls. Either you are a friend of Lowenthals or you simply are clueless as to what's going on at city hall. If she actually cared about doing a good job for the community, she wouldn't have dumped the kids at the last second to run for city council. She constantly reminds people she works full time but now she will make the time for all the ceremonial stuff that goes with being vice mayor because it gives her more power. You watch some of the fights that will be happening during council meetings if she's chairing the meeting. They are guaranteed to happen because of her desire for control. Notice she still uses the Lowenthal name even though the Lowenthal family asked her to stop using it. It's all about power. Her maiden name means nothing in her world of power. She knows all of this stuff and still does it because power is priority one. She will step on anyone in the way of her being mayor or higher. There is no compromise in her as you seem to think. It's all about her.

As a resident who has lived in this City for 30+ years amd followed closely 2nd amd 3rd
District--my sense is she will not be re elected as well as a good chance of being
recalled in 2012 along with De Long.Check the figures she only received circa 16% of the
vote because of the number of people running.

They do make a good pair.De Long the King of Flea Markets and Suja the Queen of
Overhead Tolley Lines which could be lowered once a week for community laundry day
where everyone hangs their laundry singing kumbaya.Just the type of demographics
Bloomingdales,Macy's, Tiffany's are looking for.

I think you forgot the police having to be called to Suja's office... was it once, or twice... because some kind of physical confrontation was going on there between one of her underlings and Suja?? I can't remember how that all went down. If I recall correctly, Suja wasn't very forthcoming in attempted press interviews regarding the matter.

Do I have any or all of this wrong? I'm not sure. Can somebody who remembers all that stuff remind us of Suja and the Police in her office, if it happened? Did someone pop Suja in the nose, or did Suja pop someone in the nose, or did nothing happen, or what?

Councilman O'Donnell deserves to lose the Vice Mayor appointment. O'Donnell is the same guy who supported and covered up for Councilman Delong regarding the illegal wetlands grading in hopes of generating Mayor Foster's and DeLong's support. It is clear now that O'Donnell is about to be stabbed in the back by the very people he supported.

The irony is that O'Donnell is now feeling the same betrayal by Foster and Delong the rest of us residents feel. O'Donnell will get none of my sympathy.

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Aquarius

Someone is confused and muddled today, making it difficult to talk for long without becoming equally bemused. Avoid making decisions or researching important information, because there's a strong possibility of getting crossed wires, or talking at cross purposes. A memory may also be distorted now, leading to mix-ups or bewilderment.
