You would not believe the behavior of these salaried BREMNER pigs we work for.

We had one girl working out here who never had a real mother. She was adopted by and raised by her grandmother. Her grandmother was in the ICU and the doctors didnt know if she would make it through the night. The girl went ahead and showed up for work because she was too scared to miss hours. She got upset and asked to leave work where she could go to the hospital. She was told she needed to make up her mind what was more important to her. She was told to either decide between her job or her grandmother. That poor girl was treated like absolute trash.

ILL BET THE ASSHOLE PLANT MANAGER AND ALL THE SICK QUEERS IN UPPER MANAGEMENT DONT MISS GOING TO THE HOSPITAL IF SOMEONE IN THEIR FAMILY COULD BE CLOSE TO DEATH.

We are also entitled to better pay and the BREMNER pigs are darn capable of giving us raises. Why arent we getting paid better? Because the new hires are constantly treated like trash and not paid enpugh to pursuade them to want to stay. All the money that is being wasted on training the constantly leaving new hires could be used to pay us better.

I no longer work at Bremner but if the place had been union at the time my employment was terminated i would most likely still be working there. I was sick and had valid work excuse slips from my doctor but human resources just as good as told me they were not worth the paper they were written on. There was no union presence at Bremner therefore i did not have a union stewart there to represent me.

But since i was fired without a justifiable cause i would be willing to do what part i could to see a union presence at bremner. Im a union insulator now and it is unbeleivable how nice it is to be able to go to work and not have to worry about being fired for smiling crooked.

Unions are good up north. Does anyone remember what it was like when the plastic factory in Lyon County went on strike 30 years ago? Pepole were being shot for walking the line.

My daddy worked for International Harvester for 30 years AFL-CIO union, and strike pay was $1.00 a day. They'd be out for a couple months and sometimes longer to get a 50 cent hourly raise........which would never cover the months out on strike. So what good is a union? I don't see any.

Unions had a place long ago, but they are no longer useful. Now, they serve to drain a company's resources. Be glad you even have a job, as there are plenty out there who don't right now.

I second that, WTF. People being paid $30 and $40 an hour to sit at home on layoff and abnormally high pensions have run Ford, GM, and Chrysler into the ground.

Anywhere I've worked that had a union, the union simply served to keep the company from firing employees who really needed to be fired.

NO YOU ARE WRONG!!!

As i said i am now a union insulator so i know what i am talking about.

Ive been on both sides of the fence...ive worked numerous non-union jobs and i am now working union jobs.
I once worked a job where a new manager came in and looked around and said tell that man to go home and not come back. He then said he didnt need to have a reason to fire him so what did they think would happen if someone actually gave him a reason to fire them.
I once worked next to a man named "Joe" who had been on his job for five years without missing one day of work. The line boss had a daughter who recently married and called his daughters new husband to come in and be trained by "Joe". He would be trained to do the same job as "Joe" had been doing for the past five years. As soon as the new guy was trained "Joe" was told he was no longer needed and he had five minutes to collect his personal belongings and leave the property.
Ive worked jobs where supervisors would scream at the top of their lungs at employees and the employees couldnt do anything about it or the boss would tell them to get their lunchbox and hit the road and not come back on company property.

This kind of thing does not happen in a union shop or the companies can be forced to fire the harrasing supervisors.

Two letters if your condidering a union...GM. The unions have bankrupt that company and many others as well. All unions are good for is to reward people who do not have the gumption to improve theirs own lives I say, reward the people who carry the water instead of those who drink the water....Go to school or change jobs if you don't like it.

Unions are a joke. Special Metals was out on strike for months and in the end they finally accepted the very same contract they voted NO back in September I believe.

No matter how much money to agree on it will never payback what you didn't get for months on strike.

I've seen my parents almost loose their home because Dad was on strike.

I have to agree with those who say the union only protects those who don't want to work or come in. Those who work ther --- off, no body cares about. Not the company and not the union.

Most the anti-union people posting here are most likely company salaried ass kissers or they soon hope to be company salaried ass kissers

Im going to tell you the cold hard facts.

Those facts are you can be a very excellent worker and not be lazy and not miss days and you can be making $18.00 hourly. New management can come right in and decide they no longer wish to pay you $18.00 hourly and decide its cheaper for the company to employ someone at $8.00 an hour.
They can tell you they are cutting you down to $8.00 hourly and if you dont like it there is the door and dont let it hit you in the ass. And yes right there you will decide to either stay and work for $8.00 an hour or you will decide to leave. If you decide to leave they can record it as you being fired for walking off the jobsite. Then your excellent twenty year long work history is shot to hell because the paper work says you were fired for insubordination.

I have witnessed bully bosses standing directly in front of their victims and scream at the tops of their lungs and the employee not say a word due to the fact the boss had repeatedly "hinted" that they had the "power to influence their futures". And these guys who were being abused were very excellent workers but they were harassed daily by these bully bosses.

But that is something i have only witnessed one time in a union shop setting. And that one time it wasnt 24 hours until the offending boss was put out the door and the employee was issued a sincere apology.
