Hey guys/gals.....don't let this organization take anything from you...benefits or wages or ANYTHING. If they are going to close you then the writing is already on the wall. If you believe they will save your jobs by giving them back wages or benefits then you are a fool. We knew they didn't want Welland because we were unionized and they couldn't push us around. We had a stellar safety record because of the laws in Canada. They don't want this as their push to build in Mexico is evident. I saw a picture of an employee in Mexico who lost all of his fingers on one hand because the company thought that additional guarding was not required. He no longer works for the company as they let him go with no compensation as per Mexican labor laws. Just think about it people....don't give up anything and make sure you question everything! Doesn't hurt to keep a log either.

Well they layed 25 people off a few weeks ago and runors are going around there will be more if so there is nothing we can do but there is really nothing there for us anymore retirement is gone personal days paid is gone they don't give a sh t about the workers anymore as long as they get paid. Just a job now not even 40 hour most weeks.

are these things still going on there?

man iam glad iam out of this shit got out a couple years ago you can make it there are jobs out there yes they may not pay as well worked at gdx 12 years got a day job working 40 hours a week. close to home. now i see there gonna hire 200 man i wish you all good luck not all bad at gdx was some good times but they say we are all a team till shit starts going bad then everybody for them self.good luck people but your never gonna do anything about the people that dont do nothing and think there running the plant.the production people you know who i mean.
