Alcorn County School System is the worst and most unorganized set of "Professionals" I have ever encountered. If you happen to be a working parent who has no time to visit the school on a regular basis, you child will be treated like an outsider. From teaching habits of teachers, to your child having a picture in a year book, you will have to quit your job and visit them daily to make sure that your child gets the same attention others do. Its those parents that set on there butts all day and practice butt kissing that cause some of these problems. Worst place on earth for a small town!!

I was born and raised in Corinth, and my stomach turns when I return for visits. Passing by the now entering Alcorn county sign is like entering the black hole of doom. I have since lived in areas both large and small, and have never seen a place so entranced in the politics of bowing down to the who's who like Corinth does. The thing I fail to understand is what the upper-crust of Corinth is looking to achieve. There are no activities, but worst of all, if there were activities I doubt the other participants would speak to or acknowledge you! I feel that Corinth is highly segregated - who ever heard of two proms?! Maybe in 1950! Also, the advice for my entire graduating class was to just, "go ahead and fill out this application for NEMCC, you'll all end up there anyway." Nothing wrong with community college, but not all of us wanted to go that route. Thanks to him I did, and probably missed out on some scholarships that could have paid for my education because of it. For me Corinth was a miserable 20 years of unfriendly, growth suppressing, stagnant people. There are a hand full of people in Corinth that I consider family and love deeply, but overall I am happy to be gone. People defend it, but there has got to be something wrong when others feel this way too. What a place to live? At least the slogan fits!

I'm very happy for that person who had the good sense to leave this country bumpkin backwards little "slugburger heaven". I hope you enjoy the crime in Corinth (especially the drug activity that the City Police Dept allows). I'm sure you don't agree with my comments since you are probably a member of the upper crust of Corinth Society!! HA!

What crime? Ridgeland is listed as one of the 100 best places to live? Ridgeland is not located near the crime that happens in south jackson, and I have seen no more crime here than in Corinth. If you want to enjoy some crime, maybe go down to the Corinth city park since it is in one of the worst areas in town. Children are supposed to go there for enertainment? Thanks for illustrating all the things I hate about Corinth with your comment. Maybe if someone actually thought about what people have to say about the town someone could improve it, and people could actually be as nice and friendly as they pretend to be to people passing through.

The water STINKS. Literally. I get nauseated from the smeall when I take a shower. I have to call the water department several times for them to finally fix the problem. Then in a year or two, I have to do it all over again!

I am a native and still live in this sh#t-hole.
No, kind words for me to discriple, this dreadful
place. People are so two-faced, phony to the core.
Go to church on Sunday and talk about a co-worker
or a neighbor, in such a degrading matter. Purely,
one of the worst places ever for small town gossip
cespool. I would leave in a heart beat. Too d#mn
many family, that love this corn bread-hick place.
Funny, the families with old money roots are the
worst bunch of phonies in the city. Makes me sick,
how the small ole bunch of maybe 5 families with some money, think they are superior is a joke!!!
They don't know the meaning of real money or real
financial wealth. Big fish in a tiny sh#t-hole, that they call Corinth ! Take them out of Corinth and they would not stand a real chance for status
anywhere else in America.

I moved away, to start over and get a change of
venue and life. Corinth, is too limited! Too, many
people here, trying to know your business or make-up rumors on you !!! Get out, while you can. For starters, don't move to Corinth. Move anywhere, other then here.

You're going to run into people who are judgemental and who gossip no matter where you live. Half of the people who complain about the gossiping are guilty of it too. You can't judge a whole town on your bad experiences. If we all did that, there would be no acceptable place to live. You have to stay true to your self, keep your integrity, and live your own life. Don't worry about what everybody else is doing or saying.

I live in Corinth now, but I used to live in Tishomingo County. In general, I find the people of Corinth to be much friendlier than those in Iuka. It is the "wanna be wealthy" who are snobs in every locality. They want to appear rich and think being a snob makes that happen. Although I have a problem with the city water from time to time, I love Corinth.

This is a easy gig for me. It works for me .

Dear kellyncali,
While this town sure could use some California culture if you move here you will regret it for the rest of your life. I don't participate in organized religion and I am treated like I have the plague. Also the "click" here never accepts outsiders. I should know I am one. These local goofballs think this place is some kind of tropical paradise! There are some other nice areas within one hour of here but this is NOT it. But good luck to you in whatever you decide.

Daily Horoscope for January 6

Aries

The behaviour of somebody around you (most probably your partner or family member) may be rather irrational today. Alternatively, a surprise involving one of these people is possible. Try to keep your domestic plans reasonably flexible to cover all possible outcomes. The focus is on improving your relationship with your partner or with friends today. Any outings should go very smoothly.
