Yes...that track has been there for at least 40 year. dont build a house next to a racetrack and then expect it to shut down because you're stupid.

sam thing here in Missouri, the track has been there 50 years people build houses right next to it and then complain about the noise. the judge told the people who build the houses to shut up or move, thank god, a judge with some sense

Possible reason for late racing ::

The Speedway used to use the Galveston ambulance. Last night the Galveston ambulance got called out to a wreck on 31 and they can't race without an ambulance there.
I do not know if this was the reason for the late hour racing. However, these race fans bring money to our dying town, so I say: "Gentlemen, start your engines" and keep on having fun !

Blah, blah, blah. Just pop in some earplugs, shut your windows, and live with it. That track is nationally known. Its been there forever. It very rarely runs this late nowadays. However, back in the seventies it was common to run well past Midnight. But I don't remember anyone complaining, like your whiny ass, back then. Something tells me you'll live through it.

I hate racing, and when we bought our house we didnt even know there was a racetrack near kokomo other than bunkerhill. we live a few miles from the kokomo speedway and i hate it when theyre racing. My House was built in the 1890's, LONG BEFORE any crap track was there.

Sure they can bring money to the area, and they can start by buying my house, im gone as soon as i can get outta here.(no i'm not FROM)the kokomo area.

alright Scooter,
Don't hate me cause my house doesnt have wheels and up on cement blocks like yours probably is. my home isnt made of presswood and sawdust and glue, I don't pay a Lot Rent, I pay a MORTGAGE, maybe you've heard of them?

As for anyone missing me, I couldnt care less.

I hate you because your stupid. I hate people like you who build or buy houses next to a racetrack and then complain about the noise. I grew up on the north end of Kokomo and not once did the noise from the track bother me.You should have been smarter and asked a few more questions before you bought your 120 year old dump. And no, my house is brick, drywall, and steel I-beams, but that doesn't make me any better than people who live in trailer parks. Those people have just as much right to be proud of their homes as you or I. Maybe you should try going to the track on Sundays during the summer. You may like it. Thousands of race fans seem to enjoy it. And millions around the country will tell you that it is exciting. You just sound bitter and like to blame others because you made a bad decision. Blame yourself, the realtor, or whoever sold you the house. But to expect the track owner to somehow compensate you for your bad decision is just plain stupid.

I'd hardly call 3+ miles from a race track as "next to". And for the record, IM NOT THE ONE WHO STARTED THIS THREAD.

My home is quite nice actually, I'd easily compare it to any other home in Kokomo as my home has been upkept very well, and will no doubt still be around 100 years from now, barring any tornado or devastating accidents.

I havent asked anyone to compensate me, I JUST DONT WANT TO HEAR THE NOISE AFTER 10:30PM. We have a noise ordinance in my neighborhood, WHY Should a racetrack making noise so far away get away with it, if I myself, or my neighbors cannot?

If people want to waste gasoline drivng in circles, so be it. If others want to come to Kokomo to watch it, fine, not a problem, the problem lies where the racetrack disturbs MY Quiet Neighborhood, especially after 10:30pm.

Maybe YOU like racing, I Don't. IMO racing is a complete waste of fuel, but I don't care if people do it, just don't do it while I am trying to SLEEP.
