Yep, he belongs in a mental institution, not jail.

Does anyone know if his wife stayed with him? Surely she left him since he was trying to leave her and their kids plus he humiliated them.

The morons at the Greenfield Post Office shut down their entire operation the day after the postman went AWOL. Are the folks who made that decision also going to be charged?

You mean because they found blood on his truck and knew from family members that he was armed? Yeah really dumb to try and prevent a disaster.

Greenfield mail was still delivered, they just moved operations to another location. You just couldn't make a retail purchase there, you had to go to another location. If you've ever been there, with the parking problem, you would most likely go to another location any way.

This man obviously has mental problems. If his wife understands that I doubt she would leave him unless there were other problems in their marriage. I wonder why we are all so anxious to send this man to prison when what he needs is help with his problems. And I don't want to hear about how we all have problems. Sure we do but no one knows the extent of the ones this man has. If they were bad enough to make him do what he did then they must have been pretty bad. At least when he "went postal" he didn't go to his branch and open up on everyone like others have done. Give him a break and let him get the help he needs. Lets not brand him with a criminal record for the rest of his life for something as small as this.
How about for once the federal government show a little compassion instead of pushing for the longest hardest penalty possible.
