Chad Barnes was the preacher at New Life and he did leave. He works in Woodville now. He accepted a church down there and he is very happy. Our new preacher is Larry Maynard and he is a great man of God!! We couldn't be happier with him!!

thats great to hear I been looking for a church to go to when are sevices been confused on alot things lately ex. some people think they can get saved and still live the same old sinful life where do they get that from i have read a great deal of the bible i have never seen that. please help understand

You should come join us!! Sunday school is at 9:45 am. We have a couple classes for you to choose from. Church is at 10:45 am. We have a great praise and worship team and our new pastor is amazing!! Sunday night services start at 6. Wednesday night Bible study starts at 7 but we eat at 6:15 and everyone is welcome to that.

It is not in the Bible to get saved and still live our sinful life. When we get saved we are to turn away from our sinful nature. Don't get me wrong, we will still sin, but as our preacher says we don't have to welcome it, wear it, or wallow in it! I hope that this helps. Hope you come and join us sometime too!!

I am looking for a place to go where the people are real exam. you have people that go to church on sunday they come up and welcome you shake your hand even a big ol hugh but the next day they talk about you or see you on the street and then wont knowledg you. now i know thats not the reason we go to church but somtimes a person needs the same outside the church. i remeber as a kid the curches always went out knoking on doors checking on people they havent seen in a long time or just to extend a invataion to church. well got to go for now hope to here from you soon pray for me as i try to sort thing out.

Did Maynard quit being a cop or a preacher? Why?

i don't know what the situation was, but maybe larry decided to devote more time to the work of the church. he will be missed as a deputy, but give him credit to devoting his time to where his heart is. being a minister is a full time job as is being a deputy. my hat is off to him for being able to do both, but now that he has made the decision to be a full time minister, i wish him the very best.

Larry felt it was hurting his church and resigned from the S.O..
He seems like a good guy that has his head screwed on straight.

I think Larry made a good decision.

Perhaps he could see what direction the current SO is heading.

Who in their right mind would have TR and HW running loose carrying guns? Now they have another little fat wad deputy who stops young girls. Seems like young pretty girls are the only ones committing offenses in Cooper. They are the only ones you see getting pulled over.

What type of youth programs does New Life have? Bible study, other than traditional Sunday School? Average attendance? I recently moved back to Cooper, have been visiting some of the churches,tryed the cowboy church a few times.

scotty is a freind to the community and i think he pretty much likes all the deputies we have now and would not say anything bad about them

Scotty is a good guy. Anyone that posts anything bad about Scotty is a piss ant.

TR is the one who is trouble. He stops young girls all the time just to talk to them. Anyone who thinks TR is a good anything has a poor lack of judgement.

What happened to the black officer? Did TR get him run off so no one could tell the sheriff how TR goes to Commerce and other places when he is supposed to be on duty?

Maxum was pastor at the First Assembly of God not Church of God.
He travels internationally now evangelizing. When he is state side he lives in Dekalb Tx. with wife and his son is pastor of a church in the area.

While I may not be up on everything happening in Cooper. I find myself feeling like I'm being picked on by the environment officer or fire marshal or what ever he is. He has came to my house for 3 years trying to get me on a violation. Over the past 2 years he has been citing me over a storage building, once I was in the hospital when he filed on me. He was there when I was taken in an ambulance he waited a few days then filed on me. I don't know about you folks but I think the guy is an idiot.

He came out once and cited me over a small patch of grass that had been missed when my neighbor mowed.
I think the county should get rid of the guy and get someone who is at least willing to give a person a break when they are in the hospital
