I am Bonnie, the lady across the street. let me tell you a story. The first people in Cooper to introduce and welcome Monty and I, was Cliff and Dee Causey. It was soon after this that my husband took a job driving a truck. Dee and Cliff took me taught me how to run a lawn mower and weedeater. They showed me how to edge the sidewalk and told me when it was time to fertilize. Often, when I came home from work, I'd find the lawn mown and the water sprinkler providing my grass with a much needed drink. Once, in the dead of winter, I found a pair of bright yellow garden shoes with lady bugs as the pattern. It was Dees way of reassuring me that Spring was around the corner. I used to tease them about being throw backs of the 1960's hippie revolution and would chide Cliff for his long stringy hair. Dee was an articulate, bright person and I enjoyed our conversations. I am sure you have heard the rumors and I honestly don't know. We don't run in the same circles nor do we socialize on a regular basis. But, what you may not know is that Dee has past away, and it's my belief she chose to take her life. We spent many a long evening discussing God's precious love for us. I encouraged her to think of what this selfish act would do to Cliff and their son. Just the week before she died, she had begged the doctors to help her and Cliff get well, to provide surgery to rid each of them of the pain that injuries had left in their wake. She would say that if she were gone, maybe Cliff would be better off and that she was holding him back. I guess her burden and pain were too much and she let go. |

I have more to say: Monty and I will be married 38 years comes this Sept. Monty is the love of my life, my everything. Dee and Cliff were married some where around 26 years and I know, they are soul mates. Most often, we don't pick our neighbors nor our families. We have to accept there are things we can't change. I have heard the rumors, and I don't know. But guys, they were kind and caring to a stranger. They made me laugh when I wanted to cry. They taught me so much. Dee will be gone 4 years this April 11th. You'll find Cliff most early springs out in his yard. He is broken hearted and can't hide from his loss; instead, he sits in the sun, takes a walk to build up his strength, or reads a book. But if you take the time to walk over, he'll share his sadness and is glad someone who knew Dee, still remembers. Since moving here, I have met and have many wonderful friends. I enjoy the community, its people and I love my home. I am thankful they were there when I very much needed a friend. I hope in some way, sharing my thoughts will help you understand. I wish Cliff would choose to go on, to make a life for himself and in ways, I believe he has done this; but he has so much to offer and so much he could choose to accomplish. Underneath our exteriors is so much more than what we protray on the surface. Yes, he is different, we are all different. Isn't that what makes us unique? |

Sorry, I meant to say portray. |

Bonnie, i dont know you , but you are a fine example of how people should speak an think about others , a class act all the way around , thank you for setting this matter straight |

Thanks texvet. I know I could hide behind a fictitious name and I did think about it. But I sometimes think that honesty and standing up for what one believes, is important. I have heard many of the rumors, and I honestly don't know if they are true, half truths or nonsense. But I do know Cliff and Dee have been good neighbors. I have several good neighbors and am glad I live where I do. We may chat over the fences, walk across the street or wave as we go about our lives. We all are in the middle of renovations and often discuss our latest projects and will often look in to see the progress. Sorry for the grammar, but I was writing with emotion and didn't look back until after it posted.

You know the saying, "You should never judge a book by its cover."? Well, Bonnie has just given everyone on here a very good reason why that saying is true. Until you have read the book you've got clue how the story goes. This man has obviously lived a hard life, maybe of his choosing and maybe not, but it's NOT your place to judge him unless you know him personally.
|

|
exactly!
|

I'm not always near my computer, but I'm catching up on paper work/taxes, etc. You're right! And I'm not saying Cliff is without faults. I'm not saying he shouldn't be held accountable for his actions. As adults, we are responsible for our actions and must accept there are consequences. I know bad things happen to good people. We make ignorant mistakes, and sometimes, our actions make it hard to turn around and start over again. I'm just trying to say, underneath that rough exterior, there is a kind, caring human being who is hurting, alone, probably frightened and lost. |

YEAH BONNIE! You stand out in this crowd as a real live human being seeing that all other human beings are not without flaws. I so appreciate you taking the time to post and defend those who may or may not have what it takes to defend themselves. You, Bonnie, more inner strength & light than I have ever seen or even thought of seeing in the folks that post here. You sad it so eloquently and I bow down to you. The world would be a much nicer and brighter place if there were more like you in it. Thank you again and I wish that you were my neighbor, friend, or aquaintance.
GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS, GINA TURNEY |
