Hiring freeze but no cuts to jobs or pay in Dare County

Its so nice to know the Commishes will cut and gouge. But why did they not control when the money was rolling in?

Nice to know the unneeded new Commish room will still be completed. Nice to know the Senior Center and the Pool(s) on Hatteras are still in the works.

REALLY nice to know about the mega million dollar donation for the land and Expo Center that the well funded Tourist Bureau should be paying for themselves.

Cut for the masses, yet spend for the few. Nice to know. But blame yourselves, for I blame me. That's the way the votes went.

I 100% agree with you So nice! I am also wondering about this coming summer, when all the foreign workers come down and take whatever jobs there are from teenagers who really do want to work and families that need income to provide for there own.
I say give the jobs back to the locals and leave the foreign people back in there own country for awhile.
This country doesn't need anymore hardship, we need to recover and if that means closing the doors for awhile to get back on our own two feet then the doors should be closed and keep America front and center and take care of our own. Other countries do it and it works, it should be no different for America, sometimes the best cure is right here at home and no outside influences trying to push in or saying it's wrong.

Well, what's up with the jobs now? How many exchange students are coming this summer to take locals jobs and have them work for a dollar?

This thread was meant to be about the County Commissioners, their ridiculous spending habits, their cuts from it's workforce but not from it's own self interests/pet projects.

Not the foreign workers who are hired by private companies.
