Sushi makes its debut in Kirksville

“A lot of people have been asking for eel, octopus, you know, some different things, so we started off small to kind of see what everybody was wanting, you know, or asking for, and then we'll expand it based on their demands”

You may have eaten sushi before, but never in Kirksville. Well, now you can. The city's first-ever sushi restaurant just opened a few days ago. via KTVO Kirksville

Horrible! Service was terrible. They brought me the wrong sushi roll. I ordered 2 rolls and they served me 1 and charged me for both!!! The food is seriously sub-par. Well worth the 1.5 hour drive down to Columbia for some decent sushi.

I've only been once so far, but their California roll was fine. Not that I eat sushi a whole lot, so I won't make any claims about how it compares to Columbia, but I was pleased. The miso is watery, though, so I wouldn't recommend that.

Just had the tuba roll and it was good, I love sushi, but the only reason I drive to Columbia or home to St. Louis for it is for a bigger menu

A "sushi" restaurant is the last thing we need here. Too bad we can't get a Denny's or an Arby's. That would go over much better than this place. Want to make bets how long they'll stay in business? I bet they will be gone by summer.

I liked it!! We even got a couple of samples to try and they were great! I'm pretty savy when it comes to sushi....not the exotics....and they do a pretty good job. Not the most experienced chef, but "pretty good for Kirksville" Been there three times

This place is horrible! The chef scared me, like he was fresh out of prison. A friend of mine ate there and got sick. If you like Diarrhea and parasites, this would be your place. I will never eat there again! They wont be here long.

I can't believe these other comments! My wife and I finally got a chance to try it and it's our new favorite in town. We have eaten hear at least once a week ever since. Mitsy you want yet another junk food chain in K-Ville? And I'd be happy to bet against you, they are always busy at peak dinner times. If all you want is a greasy burger then of course this isnt the restaurant for you. But, if you want to try food that is both healthy and a real cultural experience, then this is the closest place within a 90 minute drive. Highly recommend!

I agree. I love Arbys. I tried the new suchi place and didn't like it either. I thought the ones I buy at Shnucks in Columbia and bring home is better.

The food is alright, it's not very traditional but tastes ok. The atmosphere is nice, the restaurant itself is cute. However, the service was pretty bad and the food is overpriced. Expect to pay about $7 for one roll. Overall I was disappointed.

Placed an $80+ order which we arranged to pick up at an agreed time on a Sunday for a party. Nobody was there, no sushi, left a note on the door with phone number and a message on their answering machine. They never even bothered to get back to us to apologise. I love sushi and would like to support such a place in Kirksville, but with service like this, these guys deserve to be run out of town...
