It is about time. Two abutters being Virginia Morse and her husband Robert Morse have been outspoken critics of the development of that land since 1996. Suddenly Virginia is named Chairwoman of the Historic District Commission and her husband Robert is appointed to the Planning Board and both refused to recuse themselves from the discussion as well a spearheading the drive to stop the store under the guise of being concerned town officials and more comfortable fighting it with taxpayers dollars than their own.
Ms. Morse even went so far as to have a secret, non-published, non-posted meeting at her home consisting of the HDC members. She brought in town counsel Sumner Kalman without permission of the selectmen and again expects the town to pay her legal fees. Thank god, the majority of the Planning Board members saw through this charade. I imagine that if they were not so obvious and blatant the board may have voted another way. Such is karma. |
