How about the pastors preaching that people need Jesus Christ to come in and transform their lives and get rid of the sinful desires that are motivating them to do what they do? How about pastors preaching that children need stable homes where God is honored and mother and FATHER live a life before them? How about preaching that young boys and girls need to keep their pants zipped up and stop having babies out of wedlock? Yeah- there is a lot the pastors can do.

Well Rev, as long as a young person can become pregnant, get on welfare, receive housing, bridge card and full medical benefits, versus college and a career, I doubt that the youth will opt to keep their pants zipped up. It takes money to get an education and most dont have it. Their option for starting a life is quite simple. Get pregnant and once the ball is rolling, the more the merrier. Every kid is worth 500 more a month. There it is for you. Bless the Lord.

Doesn't cost a dime to get a high school education - I even know teachers who buy their paper and pencils! And, TONS of financial aid is available IF YOU WANT IT. It's not education they need first - it's JESUS!

hey east, do you remember when you first got laid? I doubt that during the heat of the moment you were thinking of the Lord. You probably said Lord a few times, but thats not where your heads were. So like the kids. We need to educate them about safe sex, because like it or not, its going to happen. Its part of life. Better we equipt them for the ability to control life's situations early and to have understanding. The one's that get pregnant purposly are the one's that are trying to start a life in the system.

You dont need to change the hearts of people to get them to stop killing. You need to get them to rehab and off the drugs. There is where you can introduce religion. And it might work at that moment. But to talk to a kid with a habit, your just twisting in the wind. Drugs are powerful and cause 99% of the crime in and around the city. If their not using, they are making money off it. Its all about drugs, not hearts. Preach until you keel over, you get nothing until you talk to a clean and sober individual. Save your knees and hamstrings and a trip to the clinic for pain meds.

A kid whose family income is low enough for welfare, food stamps, Section 8 housing, etc, does not need money to go to college.

The blood is being spilled over drug turf and drug-related financial disputes

The ONLY solution is to LEGALIZE DRUGS....ALL DRUGS... Sell them at the liquor store.

Booze and cigarettes aren't good for people wither, but it is not often that people are committing murder over them, although there was plenty of killing over the booze when that was illegal.

I think that all of the kids in the hood that bought drugs from the dealers are just as ruthless as their gang bangin friends. Once they run out of dope, they turn on 76 year old men and their wives looking for something to pawn for a quick buck to fix the habit. Not to mention all of the home invasions. They are looking for drug money. BTW.. how much do you weigh?
