Being aware of some of the evidence had by both teh Prosecution and Defense, and being familiar with both the medical and legal fields, I have this to say. The PROSECUTION has alot of work to do if they expect to win an acquittal in Camden County. Things about Jamie will come out, especially regarding his medical history and his knowledge of illicit drugs and his knowledge of the effects of mixing certain drugs with eachother that could be very detrimental to the Prosecution. Another problem I see is the Prosecutions "rush" to trial. Normally when Prosecutors go to trial so quickly, it means they have little evidence and they want to cut of the Defense's chances of gaining exculpatory evidence for their client. The indictment of Dr. Chua doesn't allege that he physically killed Mr. Carter, eitehr. The Drug Charges are what leads to the Felony Murder charge. The drug charges (writing a prescription for a non-medical purpose) are the felony that is a prerequisite for Felony Murder. It simply means that Jamie Carter died while Dr. Chua committed a felony, not that Dr. Chua physically killed Mr. Carter. It is my understanding that there was a hearing last week to have the orginal trial judge recused (she recused herself from the bond hearing) and the defense asked that another judge be appointed to hear the trial. Which I understand will in fact be in Camden County, not Glynn County which also works in the defense's favor].[/I'm not sure you know as much as you claim to know! If your such a sharp legal eagle you would know that the DA will be seeking a conviction not an acquittal. Also, the only way you would be privy to evidence both sides have is if you are actually apart of the legal teams and/or involved with the investigation; which in that case, you should be fired, disbarred etc for gossiping about issues in an on-going investigation. Also, regarding the rush to trial...I thought that was done to accommodate the Defense. If Dr. Chua is innocent why would you want him to stay in jail one day longer than absolutely necessary? You are right about one thing. The trial will be held in Camden. Just like the Grand Jury that moved to indict was from Camden. Once both sides presents their case we will have to trust the folks from Camden County to weigh the evidence and decide guilt or innocence. That is something that should not be done on a chat board.I hope your self touted medical knowledge is more extensive than your legal knowledge!QUOTE]

YOU are familiar with both the medical and legal fields? Let me guess, you have extensive background watching CSI? You sound more like a cheerleader that doesn't know which team you're cheering for - just rest your case "legal eagle"..... and leave the medical and legal issues up to the professionals.

You guys can argue all you want about the legal and medical details of this case but it won't make a difference because this is a racially motivated charge and the law does not prevail when it concerns minorities. Tangina mo Jamie!!!

Don't worry, guys. Where the doctor is, he has a lot of supporters. And they are the grateful Americans who recognize the great service he has done for the community and are looking forward to him being of service to them again.

I hope that they are willing to travel to the Phillipines for their care... that is the only place he is likely to practice again.

LDodd A.K.A. Friend of Jamie's:

The language you use (e.g. DA) speaks of the kind of person (or animal) you are and your posts smacks of racism :)

Yes I was a friend of Jamie's. Oh, and I thought that minorities could not be racist. I am not the animal in this case. That is plain to see.

Please do not turn this into a racial case...Dr.Chua does not need that, I was at his bail hearing, thier was every race, sex and religon there. Please do not make the mistake of isolating him from anyone that may be here to help him. I know many white and black folks who have donated to his family since his arrest..And when he is free and tries to rebuild his pratice he will need all of us to come back..Dr.Chua didnt segragate and you shouldnt either.

I am not segregating or being racist. That is my point. My feelings concernning Dr. Chua have nothing to do with race. Furthermore, my best friend is Filipino.

this case is not about race and arguing the case here accomplishes NOTHING. Let the system work and pray for justice to prevail no matter who's "side" your on. demonizing either side of the case is irrational and childish.

to all the american public opinions:please kindly think how long a doctor studies and educated in their lives,it takes time, patience, coolness, money,l ong hours of studying, getting educated, practical practicing, long hours in hands on experience, many years of practice to becomming a doctor in the medical profession and medical knowleicedge and what they sacretifice separations from their loved ones and families and friends and they give much of their freedoms towards helping people to get well again after illnessness and their health is also scificed to cure others>How can the american public accuse a doctor of murder when they take an oath to cure the sick and needy.Lets give this doctor Noel Chua MD a chance to prove his innocence and not be slendered by others that donot even know him in their lives. What has happened to the american legal systems saying- A person is innocent until they are proven gulity or not.Lets the american people and the general public give this doctor a chance to defend himself totally as a doctor and a medical professional and as a person.

If anyone has had a positive experience with Dr. Chua as their physician, it was just good luck. If you've ever been a patient, then you know he rarely, if ever, did a physical examination or touched anyone. A few simple blood tests ordered by Dr. Chua could have possibly saved my mom's life. Being kind and mild-mannered does not make a person a good doctor. Are people really stupid enough to believe this?? The only thing Dr. Chua was good at was perscribing weight loss drugs. He didn't care about anything else aside from having skinny patients. Please, all you Dr. Chua supporters, spare me.

Dr. Kavorkian probably took the "oath" as well. If Dr. Chua spent so much time in school studying, then he should have known not to perscribe all the drugs that he did for one individual. I'm not a Dr. and I know that mixing many meds can be fatal.

Let us all wait for the trial. I have a strong faith that Dr. Chua will be acquitted. As a person working with different doctors I wish I have work with Dr. Chua. Though, I met him only few times through my nephew who was also a doctor and a very dear friend of Dr. Chua I felt that kindness and compassion he showed to all his patients. That kind of kindness and compassion is hard to find in many doctors nowadays. I wish him the best and condolence to the family of Jamie.
