Thanks for your latest input, Rand, re: the youtube video of Val Starr. I guess everyone is entitled to his First Amendment rights, although I don't know if they extend unrestricted within 100 feet of a public building. Anyone can read into the Constitution what they want regardless of how much higher education they have had or not had. What still perplexes me after all these years is how a group of people in the lower economic strata and not very well-educated can buy into the Republican conservative ideology without little questioning. They have very little to gain by adopting this way of thinking and much to lose via the present unequal tax structure rates. I'm still hopeful he will oneday resurrect his water drilling plans for my area, although I'll probably sell out before then. I'm much more concerned with my stock investments now than my land holdings.

I think we can agree on the tax structure being unequal but not on where the inequity lies.

We should end the Bush tax cuts for the very rich right now. That amount alone has cost the US Treasury $2.3 trillion to date in lost revenue. Trickle-down economics under Reagan didn't work. It was a colossal failure. This sort of economic stimulus didn't produce any econmic jobs ultimately under Bush II. Hopefully, a new Democratic Congress next November will change all of that. I think most of the Tea Party members are on their way out the door after exhibiting extreme obstructionist tactics that hurt the economic recovery last August. If Gingrich or Santorum win the nomination, look for the whole Republican flotilla to sink across the board due to their extreme positioning on all the major issues; including women's contraceptive rights.

Rand, women's contraceptive rights are protected through a women's right to privacy as enumerated in the landmark legal case, Griswold v. Connecticut. I think the Obama Administration reached a compromise today as to what specific insurance companies will cover if a women happens to work for a Catholic University or hospital. Remember, over 98% of women, Catholic or non-Catholic, use some form of contraceptive sometime during their active sexual lifetime and 53% of this coming electorate are women. The majority of people clearly stand with Obama on how he has handled this issue. Why are we still having this debate in 2012? A: Because the Republicans realize now that they can't win on current economic issues.

Great thinkers have written beautifully about this topic. I will not try and site chapter and page to make my point. When it comes to rights we know what we know. A right does not involve someone doing something for you. It always involves others leaving you alone. Abortion is complicated because it asks the definition of you. Contraception is not complicated. I do not see how it should include more than the required two individuals. Unless your boss is in the room, your employer should not be involved. >>>>>>> >>>>> I know ,, you just realized I am the smartest person you know.

The right to privacy trumps the First Amendment right to religious freedom. Twenty eight states in this Union now agree on that, Rand, as does the majority of the American people.

My right to privacy to watch Tiger Woods now at the Pro-Am in Pebble Beach trumps my ability to respond to you, Rand, at this point.

I work with someone who deals with Rhodes and his staff directly. I work in NYC and live around here now but lived in Phoenix for a while. Ive been following this board in the past but not lately due to the nonsense on it. As everyones been busy fighting about dumb stuff on this board (I wonder what they do for a living) Las Vegas has been recovering fast. Maybe not so much for the housing market but casions, small businesses, and all that comes with it have steadily increased value. This has increased Rhodes net worth in the past 6 months. From my source (i know going to get a lot of whos your source blah blah blah)once hes done with blue hill diamond project, hes starting up with the arizona projects. He said that Rhodes has a lot invested in it, but that the blue hill diamond project was more important due to heavy protesting from local towns.
