Everything evolves, changes, adapts ...except those that wish Branson was like their youth;
three-toothed Hayseeds strummin' a banjo and rubbing on a washboard is how they wish it could remain.

Life passes the elderly by and leaves them in its wake - to flounder and to shake their dentures loose.

C'mon momma, let's all sit in a circle ...so's you can sing us that 'ol UNION SONG once again!

Then the "new" Branson will wither and die on the vine. The family friendly atmosphere and the scenery is all that they ever had....now the scenery is blocked up with signs and crap in every direction...
If people want bars and other adult entertainments, they will go elsewhere....casinos in the area (of which there are many), KC, St. Louis, Vegas....the list is endless.
HELLO and wake up and smell the coffee, that's the OLD Branson. Music shows closing left and right, no one likes cowboy music or crap like that. New blood is what this town needs. The younger generation, old folks are dead or to old to make a trip here.

Good bye blue hairs and dentures cups, depends, and hearing aids.
HELLO and welcome the newest and younger generation.

Right back at ya grandma

Old folks on those tour buses - that make me look like I'm still a teenager - are all Branson's got. Keep those old fogeys going to those has-been shows that are too dated for me or you have nothing, nada, zip.

Younger folks are going to spend their bucks elsewehre; they have no reason to drive way to little ol' Branson when they can go where the bright lights of the city shine!!!!!!!!!

Branson has had its' day in the sun; Even us "old" folks have better places to go these days!

And young families - like mine - I still have kids in GRADE SCHOOL - have other places to go too, lots more fun and way less expensive!

Bag, I'm not old - not with kiddies still in grade school.

I'm not talking old folks on tour buses watching Tony Orlando prance around, I'm talking families with bucks to spend on entertainment.

There is less and less FAMILY (not old fogey) entertainment in Branson.

It's a sow's ear wanting to be a silk purse if Branson really thinks that young people, young single and out for a good time people are heading for Branson.

More than interesting. All I wanted to know was what the people of Branson think, kinda like an insiders view, of shows and attractions. Never thought it would turn into such denigration of one another. I hope it is only a few people and not the majority who act/think/talk like this. I will be wondering during our visit. Still looking forward to all the fun we hope to have!!

We take all ages to see the Duttons. They have all types of music in their show and we see them several times a year and enjoy each show as much or more then the last time we were there.

I go to the shows, and the Legends was great. I didn't hear of any crime when I was there, and I am usually very weary of a new town. Was all perfectly norm. to me

Honestly?
OK then-

Start by reading a book
'The Shepherd of the Hills'

When you get here you can watch a recreation of the story, horse riding, house burning, the whole bit. Then you'll have an idea of our true heritage in this area.
See Ol'Matt's cabin, find the route Sammy Lane took her horse on. Sit on Look Out Mountain and have a picnic, walk the trails, find Joe Bald mountain. Mihgt be a very samll fee these days but Inspiration Tower truly is a site. Go to the lake. School of the Ozarks had an amazing museum. For the longest time the car off the Beverly Hillbilly show was there. There are neat little informative museums about the wild flowers and fish, the Conversation Dept. does a real good job keeping up on numerous trails in the area.

Trying to say - I believe they might ask for a few dollars to ride to the top of Inspiration Tower.

I've been to Branson 3 of the last 4 years and love it. I'm looking forward to next year's visit.
I'm 63 and my daughter is 46.. We don't go to many shows but here are some of the attractions that we love.. Silver Dollar City, Branson Belle, Shepherd of the Hills, Dogwood Canyon.. We also like to take little trips down to Eureka Springs or up to Carthage, Mo. There is lots to do in the area. We love eating at the college - the serve the best food in Branson.
Enjoy your trip

Daily Horoscope for December 21

Taurus

If you're a typical Taurean you value both your emotional and physical security, and often tend to restrict your actions accordingly. But during the coming month you'll need to spread your wings more widely than usual, whether through mental or physical pursuits. It will do you good to be more adventurous for a change, and to embrace life in all its aspects.
