i have eaten there too. what a great little restaurant. i dont recall wall paper at the restaurant. but the tiki hut is very kitschy. its about time we have a really great place to go to out and eat and have some really delicious italian food, other than gainesville and that little town of lake city.

And I'd like to know where this restaurant is located? Is the actual name of it Gorizia Italian Restaurant? Visions of Gnocchi and Carbonara are dancing in my head...

Never had the pleasure but my vote would have to be for the lasagna and hot fresh bread sticks.

By the way State Road 121? The Lake Butler 121? What city or town is it in? Or better yet what county?

We are right on State Road 121 in the heart of beautiful downtown historic Worthington Springs 1 block from the scenic Sante Fe River"

It's quite a drive for me.:0)

A suggestion for the menu - cherry and almond frozen tortoni - that will keep them all coming back for more.

what an excellent place to eat. No one in a 50 mile radius can ever compete with them. We live in Lake Butler, and have eaten there plenty of times. That is by far the favorite for us. The owners are wonderful and food is delicious.

Ok, you've all convinced me. I shall see for myself on this fine Friday, the 31st day of March, 2006.

It's "hot" garlic sticks all the way!

Make sure you check back in and let us know what you think of it Jim. It sounds like a really nice little place. We don't have a good Italian restaurant in this area.

Yes mam Ms. Taylor I surely shall.

Lake City could use such a place as well. I used to really like Fazoli's but for some strange reason they shut down about five years ago. I could never figure that one out cuz they were always packed customer wise?
Several of the best restaurants in our area closed down too. They seemed to have good business so it kind of surprised me.

All this talk about good Italian food... I think tomorrow I may have to make some stuffed rigatoni and homemade rolls or something.

I hope you have a wonderful time and I can't wait to hear all about your dining experience!

Almost your entire economy is based on outsiders. Ever hear of tourism?

Best yet, stay inside and do the world a favor.

Suzanne, I lived in WS from 2001 until 2007. I also knew the owners and ate at this place and the owners were awesome as was the food!!! They loved everybody and they cared for everyone.

If anyone wants to know why this place closed, ask the RIMES of Timber Village. Better Yet ask the two Rimes boys who run the town along with their father who thinks he owns it. That place had people eating there all the time. Annie and her husband were so caring for everyone who ate there. I remember before they had the disabled parking Annie would bring out my food because she knew I couldnt get it.
Yes ask RIMES!!!! It is quite simple on the biggest reason they closed.. Try looking at the NO PARKING SIGNS .. It is hard to have a business when your customers can not park within 3 blocks of the place. Hmmmmmm wonder why the NO PARKING signs weren't up before Annie and hubby were even there..or when they opened and the customers were slow in numbers but when they started to get customers coming in after all their hard work to make it the best place for all of us to meet and have fun.NO PARKING!!. YES ASK THE RIMES!!! WARNING : Lies could follow but you are smart and just seeing the NO PARKING signs equal NO CUSTOMERS equal NO MONEY equal NO BUSINESS..
It has stood empty ever since and who in their right minds would open up anything there and can not have parking for their customers.. If you live in WS and know the Rimes you know where I am coming from and know what I say is true..
YES ASK THE RIMES!!!
We Miss you Annie and Hubby.. In a way it is good you are out of that LITTLE DUKES of HAZZARD hell hole. Unless you are a Rimes or one of their Butt Kissers you will never make any life there

YES ASK THE RIMES..

That restaurant had the most delicious food. The restaurant was clean, clean, clean, and they treated us so good. We remember them giving free soup to the customers when the weather got cold,
we remember what they tried to do for this little community by bringing people together. They are honest hardworking and very thoughtful.

You are correct Chocoholic everything you stated and your post is spot on...

Ms Annie and Mr John are such sweethearts, and great chefs too.

i dont know what made me get into the topix forum, but i spotted the blog about gorizia Boy o boy that restaurant was so excellent. My wife and I used to drive from North Carolina to that little restaurant just to get their lasagna.

We love those people they did such a good job of treating customers right. we actually thought of buying a place in worthington just to be close to that little gem of a restaurant.
