i don't understand why more people aren't outraged by the fact that illegals [sure not every one, but plenty] are making our town so unsafe.... enough is enough.

Of course they are outraged...It's just that they are still choking on their political correctness. At some point, the level of criminality in Marin will reach a critical mass and the unexpressed outrage will morph into a rush of applications for carry permits. The view of self professed liberals in Marin packing heat on their hips will be a sight to behold.

Deport them along with their families.

And now we have to pay for their stay at the Civic Center Hotel and pay for their public defenders.

Not all illegal immigrants are gang members, but could you argue that all gang members are illegal immigrants?

this has nothing to do with whether or not these people are illegal aliens. there are plenty of home-grown thugs. I for one would be willing to contribute money to fund a program to harass gang members so much that they leave Marin, or are all in prison.(I'd call it tax, but then the knee-jerk anti-tax nuts would turn it into politics). We should provide the police with enough resources to do the job. If gangs get established here, it will begin a downward spiral. The problem is not undocumented people, it's illegal and violent activity. No mercy for gang bangers!

You are missing the point....Are there Gangs whihc are comprised of "Legal" residents of the US? Yes..and we need to address it..without a doubt. However, why should we have to deal with Gangs which are comprised of "Illegal Aliens"? We should not! Why? Becuase they should not be here in the first place. Enforce immigration laws...fine employers who hire illegal aliens and poof...no more illegal aliens...no more illegal alien gang members. See..was that so difficult to understand? got it? good!

I agree, and for those of us who live close to the Canal, its also not fair to have to suffer the effects of a utterly overcrowded neighborhood teeming with too many cars and people, and too many families crammed into small apartments.

Gees..show a bit of compassion Liberal. The American student receives very little attention from the teachers because they are preoccupied with the "ESL" student.
