moving to key west

hey i am gonna be moving to key west this month and i was wandering if anyone could give me any advise. like what places to avoid and what the best places to visit are. thanks

Living in Key West is not easy. It is not easy finding gainful employment. If you are coming looking for a life partner, most of the single people are either alcoholic or on drugs.

Make sure you have a suitcase full of money.

EVERYTHING is way overpriced, including rent.

If you're an illegal you'll get a job right away.

Most singles aren't drunks or on drugs tho, at least in my circle,

ummm thanks i actually moved here with my husband he is navy and ths is his first duty station. i have met a few ppl but not many i dont really get out much. im a small town girl in the middle of know where to here. we have been here 2 weeks and my head is still spinning. i just wish i could meet ppl that i could talk to

watch out sweety duval street is full of drunks, homosexuals, pan handlers, pick pockets, over priced drinks, sweaty t-shirt shops, crappy food, and ME! Then ya have to watch out for all dose kreepy tourists! If I see ya we will share a beer! SWAK

There is so much else to do in Key West ( Watersports, Fishing,Diving,Dry Tortugas Trips, exercise in great surroundings)which is why so many people come here and stay as long as they do, and even buy a second home.I moved here 12 years ago and have not found a better place.I tried the Southern Hemisphere and England,East and West Coasts of the US but nothing compares for me. It is what you make it. Wanna drink and be an alcoholic you can do that anywhere.Wanna be warm and have fun with people doing the same thing try Key West out most people want to come back.Enjoy it.I would be happy to help answer any Real Estate related questions. www.Keysforme.com

missouri girl!!! I was wondering its been a month or so since you moved and wanted to know how you like it. Im moving on May, my husband is moving on april. He got a good job offer. We are going to rent a studio for about 6months while I go house hunting. I take any advice you can give me.

I have vacationed there and have always had fun. I am suddenly in a situation where I can live wherever I want to according to my employer(software/work at home)and I am so tempted. I just don't know how I'd like living there but living in the cold Northeast and having no ties really anymore makes it that much more tempting.

well i like it here i go to the aqua every other weekend with my neighbor even tho i cant drink lol. everyone that i met is nice so far. but just a hint it is a very high cost of living here. i am used to small towns and my head is still spinning. bubba is right tho there r alot of drunks and they r very rude sometimes. but you can still have fun without going on duval everynight. if you have any q's feel free to email me at chandley_1986@hotmail.com and when u get here me and my neighbor need more girls for girls night lol its every other weekend at the aqua.

I am moving into the area in Sept and will probably live in the big pine area. how bad is the commute to the Navy base Bocs chica I guess??

well its a good thing i dont have anything against gays. and personally the only ones that do are uneducated idiots. and maryland guy we moved here in feb and we moved into on base housing.

Pay no attention to "Brady". He's Robert Krutko, who lost it all in KW becuase of his own stupidity. You can find more about him on Google and the Monroe County sheriff's site. He also lives in Ohio ..... whick speaks volumes.

Hey, I'll be moving within a month. Are there any family-friendly (i.e., kid-heavy) areas? I have a 10 year old son, so I'd like for him to be near other kids.

there is a site for play dates and other stuff. its www.keywestmommies.com they do play dates and other projects. tell them katelyn sent you. i belong to the site with my 4 yr old but there are parents on there with older kids
