I don't advocate single Parenthood at all here. I think a Child benefits from both parent's influence, but I agree with this Woman on constitutional grounds. It would be something totally different if this religious organization or it's related partners didn't accept tax payer money. I would side with them if that were the case.

With all the forgotten children out here, she should go ahead and adopt...or get knocked up...at least the kid will have the possibility of having a father.
Hey, at least she got her 15 minutes of fame.

After trying for years to get pregnant and losing a child we conceived through IVF and couldn't be happier. I am a firm believer that if you can afford IVF, take care of your child and give him/her the love and support that they deserve then I say go for it. No one should be turned down or treated a different way just because they aren't married. I hope that this Ohio woman has her chance to be a Mom.

How proud I would feel if she gave birth to me and to grow up with just a Mom and have no Dad whatsoever.....NOT. Talk about having psycho issues later in life! Selfish.

Hey old woman....
Medicare does not cover births
You'll put the baby down; forget where you left it
You'll be fighting the baby for the Gerber jars
The baby will have to change you
Let's play connect the liver spots on mommy's hands
You'll punish the kid for coloring on your social security check
Where did you come from? I was defrosted.
Let's beat Jimmy up...he lives with his grandmother

I can unserstand why she is upset, nd I can understand why the fertility clininc would deny her. I mean I'm sure she is self sufficient and intelligent and she just wants a baby. But the doctors have to look into wether or not she would be fit to be a singlr mother, what is she gonna do if the situation turns out to be like the OCTOMOM? Scary but true let's be realistic. A

You know, we have enough children raised with one parent as it is...don't do that purposely! It is a proven fact that children psychologically need a mother and a father. One person can not be both! Relatives and "friends" don't count. For heavens sakes, ladies, wake the hell up!!!!!

Yes, but I highly bet you are more stable and secure and not sue-happy!!

Really old woman? How is that "film-making" career of yours going in the Dayton/Kettering area? Or was that a misprint and it was meant to say Los Angeles? I only can think of one type of "film-making" that goes on in the Dayton/Kettering area.....

And I am sure the film makes it no farther than the internet.

Got to love a place where some children starve in the streets, others live in foster care and dream of being adopted, and other people pay thousands of dollars to create their own, personal child.

That would be like living in a country where everybody overeats and then pays for a membership where machines can help their bodies simulate physical labor.

Next, we'll be wearing shoes on our hands and the cheeseburgers will eat people.

Good. You do not have a right to breed bastards and brats or have the taxpayers enable you to do so, either as a single mother with lovers or as a potentional po' Welfare State 'ho. Ohio cannot afford more poor Octomoms making future population bombs that will one day expensively explode, like ya know.

Hmmm she made a life choice here. She chose her career instead of having a child. She doesn't mention ever attempting to be married so she shouldered her own career and made that choice. Now in her 40's she is deciding she wants a child and is angry that they won't do the procedure at a free clinic? Sorry but if I was the doctor I would have denied her for IVF procedures simply based on her age! At the age of 40 the odds of her having a pregnancy without complications or birth defects is pretty slim. This lady would probably be one of the first to line up to demand special services and concessions for her child if it had special needs.

We are such a "me" country. We make life choices then expect to get everything we want when we make the wrong choice. If she wants a child adopt one or pay someone to be a surrogate! IVF is insanely expensive and should be used as a last resort not as a shopping mall for babies!

Well, sometimes life sucks and people don't do what you want them to do. But for God's sake, don't go on T.V. and gripe about it!! Find another way. My husband and I couldn't conceive, and we are Catholic. They don't like IVF, so we decided to adopt. We now have three beautiful children, but I never went on T.V. and griped about the Catholic Church - Lord knows I sure could, though!! LOL!
Like I said - life sucks and people aren't going to do what you want all the time. Find another way you idiot!! You think they are going to open you with open arms after you went on T.V.??? Stupid!

I noticed you stated "WE" could not conceive. Hah! You are/were married and the child would have a two-parent household!! IVF is not the issue! No one person can be two parents!

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Virgo

Mercury is turning retrograde at just the right time, because it's telling you to consider the validity of your long-term aims and aspirations. If they stand about as much chance of seeing the light of day as you do of winning the Lottery, then you need to streamline them or even abandon them and start again. So think about what you want from life and how you're going to get it. Children and romance may be quite erratic during this phase.
