Ok. A couple of points to make. Where the H3LL were the parents of the four year old. In this day and age, even if it was a great part of Fresno, you don't leave a four year old alone, unsupervised in the front yard. And unfortunately, it is the responsibility of the P.D. to try every thing she can to establish doubt and defend her client, but get real. "doubted the teenager understood the Miranda Rights read to him by investigators"...He knew enough to entice the kid across the street. He knew enough to do to what he did to the poor four year old. Had enough mental capacity to know he had to keep the kid quiet and put enough thought into carrying him from one room to the bath to drown him, then to another room to stuff him in the dryer, and obviously knew he had done something very wrong when he first denied involvement. Even if he is just 14, he should be charged as adult. Find a mental institution and lock him up. Or...put him into prison and let him experience on a daily basis what he put the pour four year old through.

At 14 he knows better and he understands. He should be tried as an adult. 47 years is not enough. This kid is beyond help. No emotion, no remorse sounds like a sociopath.

It's just sad all around.

The fact that he tried to silence the 4 yr old is a great indication he knew that what he was doing was absolutely wrong. What a damm shame.

There are obviously some very serious mental issues here for the courts to consider. It will take a very long time for any mental service dept. to resolve this boy's mental issues if possible at all. How sad for both familys.

5' tall and 170 lbs? That should be child endangerment! This is a sad sad case. Am sure mental issues abound in a dysfunctional household.

"Marousek said after the hearing that she doubted the teenager understood the Miranda Rights read to him by investigators, which could put his confession in doubt." That's typical coming from a defense attorney. If he gets off on that technicality, maybe someone in the poor kid's family will do some vigilante justice on him. Makes you wonder how a 14 yr old becomes so cold-hearted to kidnap, sodomize and drown a little kid. Wow. Bad parenting? Bad genes? Guess we'll know eventually. But if he's that messed up at 14, how's he going to be after 47 years in prison?

what comes around goes around. Wait till he's in prison. Your right where were the parents? A lot of parents let their childred run around in the store and then will go and look for them in the toy section. I've see is happend a lot of times. Parents to need be with their kids. Even if they cause a scene take them home or have someone watch them.

this is a horrifying story, unbelievable. The 14yr old must have some mental issues or was possibly molested when he was young. That poor innocent baby, the last minutes of his short life were spent being sodomized and then drowned. I feel so so much for his grieving family who have to think about that every day. This made me so so sad. The 14yr old should never be allowed on the streets ever again, if he was willing to do something this bad at 14 I can only imagine that it will get worse with age. SAD.

Too bad luv chunks is too hefty to stuff in the dryer and use up about ten dollars in quarters on the perma-press spin cycle. Who taught him to sodmize other boys? Someone near and dear to him got to this kid years ago. Kids just dont think up that stuff all by themselves.

'Marousek said after the hearing that she doubted the teenager understood the Miranda Rights read to him by investigators, which could put his confession in doubt.' If he's old enough to have the wherewithal to lure the 4-year-old into his home, sodomize and then kill him, he's old enough to know what he was doing and be held accountable as an adult. He knew what he was confessing to and he understands a lot more than you're willing to acknowledge. I just got finished with a case where the accused had been found guilty of armed robbery at age 11. It ultimately ended with him killing two women years later. As sad as this is, "correctional facilities" don't actually "correct" people. He needs to be removed. Permanently. And I say this as the father of a thirteen-year-old boy.

Hang the murdering molester in the town square. He does not deserve the benefit of a criminal defense. Any "attorney" willing to take the case should have their license revoked. I believe in the justice system in this country except for cases like these. We shouldn't defend monsters at public expense.
