The Red Monte is considered the most classic of cars by the low riders for its sleek lines and rear wheel covers. A 350 4-barrel that screamed when you stomped the accelerator which I did many times. Oh, and I got caught flipping the cover up on the air filter and got my ass chewed out. Never did it again, although I wanted to. Ah, the joys of youth!

I saw Blue Oyster Cult in the Red M.C. I saw a Blue Moon in the window of a yellow Vega. I saw the Dairy Queen Wars from a Red Duster. I saw Fireworks from the bed of a Red Pick-up. Don't be green with envy. This is just a white lie in a purple haze.

Pulp Dog, you just about summed up the growing years using the primary color spectrum. Where is Miss Anthony's prism when we need it? And how come not many people talk about West School? Is it because it has faded away or because so many great ones came from that school that it doesn't need to be discussed? Remember the West School teachers: Miss Shields, Miss Lamb, Miss McQuiston (sp?), Miss Anthony, miss U.

And you forgot one color although not from the spectrum: black. Black was the color of a toy German Luger gun, die cast, given to me on my birthday by a neighbor and friend, that held a roll of caps, that was heavy and solid in my hand, that I kept for so many years until in one move it just disappeared, likely taken and carelessly discarded. It was and remains one of my most cherished gifts.
And speaking of gifts, there was one more, given on a Christmas. It was a large orange bag of Cheese Puffs that I munched on for weeks, given by someone who sought to build an empire. That and the above gift stand out in my mind as some of the greastest things I was ever given. End of the spectrum.
